this is very recent
My significant other
challenged me to write a song
She would write a song with the same title - "What's wrong with you?"
and after a brief time eventually the songs would be compared.
Being a true Samurai I don't usually go in for competitions, but she got me into it.
Anyway she won. (much to my surprise)
The competition turned out to be fruitful, I got 3 good songs and a few laughs out of it.
this song is the epilogue song to the competition drama.

I Am Right Here

you are not me, remain indoors,
or better still
switch off the lights
on all that's yours
on all that's yours

th' back n' forth, this time today
when there is love
th' vain and th' proud
will fade away
eventually

the darker arts, must not prevail
they try to break your heart
don't let them in
behind the veil
behind the veil

I'll hold my breath, I bend n' break
there is no blue that's equal to
the thought of you

before your feet, I am right here
I know you'll love me
if the whole world
should disappear
I will be here

I am right here

It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

I like this, but it leaves me wanting to hear it sung instead of just read.  Hopefully, I'll get a chance in the future.

I never feel qualified to critique your work. I like the mood of this, and I couldn't stop myself from trying to hear how you might sound singing it. I can hear your voice, but I can't quite make out the melody...
