Hi, I have a goal of selling my first song (or receiving first royalty payment) this year. The songs are chosen, have received great feedback from peers and I have loads of ideas about marketing them. I have joined the forum to buddy-up with anyone with a similar goal to this so we can exchange ideas and motivate each other. I'm 35 and write music part time at the moment and work in sales the rest of the time.
Immediate goals are:
1. Get the 2 demos recorded with singer - deadline 01/02/12
2. Finalise post production, final product - deadline 01/03/12 (long in case new instrumentalists needed)
3. Set up myspace, facebook website and put songs on websites, itunes etc. - deadline 01/04
3. Contact 50 (initially) radio stations (prioritised) to play them - deadline 01/05
4. Contact 10 (initially) song buyers to sell them - deadline 01/05
5. Contact 10 (initially) artists directly to sell them - deadline 01/05
I am also scheduling 2 hours per day to work towards these goals and complimentary goals.
