Magic Ship:- Music by BeeBeesmith (BB)  Lyrics by Patty Lakamp (Peko)

Created the backing, vocal melody and the last few lyric lines with an extramundane feel covering the working title of Magic Sailing Ship..

Recorded it all and sent it to Patty to come up with some lyrics and 24 hours later Patty had turned it into a complete song  incorporating the same few lyrics that you will hear at the end. How cool is that, what a talent, thank you Patty.
The intro is long, the song is long and I moan about both, what a hypocrite I am.

V1
Sailing alone, on my rare brigantine
Chasing the maiden who entrances me
So long ago, I lost her in the blue
She haunts me now in a mystic dream

 Ch1
The lonely wind, my only friend, it beckons me
The Seven Seas, the galaxy, Oh, where is she

 Ch Br
My magic ship wanders the oceans and the skies
Seeking a trace of her, a message left behind

 Ch2
The mystery, my fantasy, the rhapsody
Drive me on, to find the one who captured me

V2
Her billowing gown dances in the clouds
The swirling wind sweeps her golden hair
She hovers close, then turns and flies away
I close my eyes to keep her there

 Ch1
The lonely wind, my only friend, it beckons me
The Seven Seas, the galaxy, Oh, where is she

 Solo

 Ch2
The mystery, my fantasy, the rhapsody
Drive me on, to find the one who captured me

Ch Br
My magic ship wanders the oceans and the skies
Seeking a trace of her, a message left behind

 Ch3
The mystery, my fantasy, the rhapsody
Drive me on, to find the one who captured me
The Seven Seas, the galaxy, Oh, where is she

 Solo

 Outro Vocal
Where are you
Where are you
Where are you now
Where are you
Where are you
Where are you now

@Beebeesmith      The production on this is soooooooooo freakin good! Wow.

Nice song, great voice and the harmonises were top notch. I felt a very strong fleetwood mac vibe, is that an influence of yours?

Anyway top track, and really superb production.

Hi @Sebandme
thank you for listening and your kind comments. Do you know it’s often said that my compositions have a ring of Fleetwood Mac and or George Harrison about them and I will take that any day as a real complement.
I never considered this song to be one but subconsciously there must be something going on with my thought process when writing..
Made my day, nice one 👍

Hi,
Liked the intro, nice tune and production, really like your vocals and very cool harmonies which suit it to a tee.
And neat solo and ending too!
Got an American retro feel to it

Lovely stuff @Beebeesmith There's a really authentic 70's west coast vibe to this. I loved the melodic nature of the tune. The playing and production are absolutely excellent.

This is lovely @Beebeesmith - beautiful melody - you and Patty make a great team it would appear!

Production and playing are very polished.. Lovely pro feel to the whole thing - your vocalist is very good also.

Very much enjoyed this!

Hi @Neil C
thank you also for taking the time to listen and comment, messed around for ages before I was happy, not quick or prolific unlike some of you guys on here.

Hi John @pompeyjazz
very nice of you to say so, made a change from the Country type thing I try and do and that’s only because I struggle to relate to the modern pop stuff.

Hi @MonnoDB
Some very kind comments from you all and yes I love Patty’s lyrics. I don’t care for writing lyrics
and Patty doesn’t do melodies so it’s a cool arrangement.

This is a lovely thing. Very laid back and smooth flowing. Everything seems to be in its place and working together. That guitar riff is simple but it doesn't need to be anything more. It doesn't seem long at all. Love the harmonies in the bridge and I would replicate that feel (or more) in the later choruses I think.

Lovely song to listen to.

Hi BB. I echo all the other posts. It’s a charming catchy and well produced song. Was it professionally recorded? Certainly sounds like it. Would be great to get some insights into how you put it together. Obviously a lot of experience on show here. Lots of subtle use of instruments to help it all hang together really well too.

I think I'll jump on the bandwagon. This definitely sounds radio-ready to me. I really like the melody, especially the chorus, but really, all of it. I noticed a couple of tiny prosody issues (wanDERS instead of WANders and seekING instead of SEEKing), but professionals do stuff like that all the time and make lots of money, so I probably shouldn't even mention it. Especially since they're tiny.  ::)

Beautiful work all around!

Ah my review never saved and now I need I remember what I wrote...and will need to listen again 🥰

This is fantastic...I love FM and yes it reminds me of them so much but the writing...man the writing...it builds so gradually and before you know it the melody is swirling all around you majestically...it really is a work of art

Everything about this is just perfect

You are the real deal indeed ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I bloody wrote my review on another song 😂😂😂😂

Hi @Beebeesmith

This is totally awesome dude 😍😍😍😍 I love FM so this is right up my street

But more than that it’s so cleverly written...it incrementally builds as it moves and ends up becoming quite majestic before you know it...as I say such clever deep songwriting - great lyrics 😍😍😍😍

Love the break with the solo and organ and back into that glorious chorus ahhhhhhhhh❤️❤️

This has hit written all over it 🤩 very well done ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi  @Beebeesmith

A very nice professional sounding MOR American sounding song beautifully sung and played.
