... Growing up I didn’t take much notice of ABBA (apart from the beauty of Agnatha of course) but as I looked back I realised the shear artistry of their commercial brand of music.

Now that reflects my journey re ABBA too @Beebeesmith. Some folk on here, such as the honorouble gentlemen @PaulAds and @PeteS, are still misguided and unappreciative of the finer things in life. But I’m a firm believer in education. So I have sent them the ABBA Gold album in the post. :) As you are obviously a man of taste Mr BB, then I am thrilled by your appreciation of my humble song.

Right, that’s it the rest of you, no more ABBA haters in my thread! ;)

You can stay though @MonnoDB as I remember you saying once that you loved ABBA. No backing down at this point, it is out there! ...Besides, thanks for digging my song. Feel the beat of my tambourine, oh yeah...cos anyone could be that guy, don’t you agree? Classic :)

But interesting that this thread has had more replies than for any other song over the past couple of weeks. Yes, I know it’s because I am better than ABBA, cos @PaulAds said so! But I also suspect it’s because the subject matter has brought a few more out to have their say, one way or another, on the mighty A. Much fun anyways. :)

My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

So I was watching The One Show this evening (a BBC nightly topical magazine show, for non UK members) when Sophie Ellis Bexter was featured. Apparently she has been singing her Murder On The Dancefloor song - from almost 20 years back - and putting it on YouTube, live from her kitchen in lockdown. Then she’s just done a kind on karaoke broadcast of other stuff, and this has mysteriously - to me - ended up with masses of video views, and now a nationwide tour will happen when tours are allowed again. Talk about milking a 20 year old hit that was pretty average anyway, although it did reach no’ 2 in the UK charts. But then again, she has FIVE kids btw, so could probably do with a bit of dosh!

Then Noel Gallagher has joined in with his broadcasts again from his kitchen.

But tonight I wad so pleased to read that 75 year old Bjorn from ABBA has slammed all this Covid attention-seeking kitchen streaming as ‘boring’. He even refers to himself as a ‘former pop star’, very cool. Although it looks like I will be ‘waiting for ABBA’ for a bit longer now. But good on him for calling out the talentless opportunists. Lockdown can’t reduce us to celebrating karaoke in the kitchen, surely. C’mon @PaulAds, you’ve got to give him credit for this at least!  ;)

Singing live in the kitchen? That’s so 2016...

I’m not surprised Bjorn doesn’t like being in the kitchen...I’m sure he spends all of his spare time watching the history channel...

Very good @PaulAds, a man before his time. But no wonder you are so miserable if you have been in lockdown since 2016!  ;)
