Hello  :)

I mentioned on a zoom chat a couple of weeks ago if anyone fancied doing any covers of other forum songs...I know a few people have already done some...and when I was talking to @Paulski I mentioned how excellent I thought his song "Uber Love" was...and how I'd love to do my own version of it...so I decided to do it today while it was bucketing down with rain...I simplified it a bit for convenience...there's drums, bass, a tambourine, one electric guitar, one acoustic 12-string and I did the vocal over two tracks, as they overlap slightly here and there...

I hope I've done it justice, despite it being done pretty quickly...I had a lot of fun with it, anyway.

Here's the lyrics in case you'd like to sing along...like I've been doing for 18 months or so :)

UBER LOVE

This girl I know asks for me all the time
(She sold her car and now she doesn't drive)
I pull up to her place and she gets in
And off we go again
Off we go again..

Uber love
Uber love
I'm picking up
My Uber love

I'm in the driver's seat, she's in the back
Sometimes along the way we'll have a chat
I take her anywhere she needs to go
But I guess she'll never know
That I love her so

Uber love
Uber love
I pick her up
Then I drop her off

I took her to a party late one night
I could hear the crazy party-ers inside
And I wondered if she'd make it home OK
Then like a fool I drove away
Yes, I drove away..

Uber love
Uber love
I pick her up
Then I drop her off
The time we spend together
Is never quite enough
Oooo I love
My Uber love

Then one day she booked a ride
But I wasn't on my shift
And I heard some other guy
Has been giving her a lift
Oh no!
SHE's RIDING IN A LYFT !!

Uber love
Uber love
I picked her up
Then I dropped her off
The time we spent together
Was never quite enough
So I lost my Uber love
My Uber love

And thanks to PAULSKI for such a great song!

Do it justice? You brought it to life!  ;D
Love the guitar sound and the vocals (of course!)
Nice one Paul - I'm honoured!

I love this song, so charming. And you’ve proved @PaulAds that a great song can be covered and interpreted in many interesting ways. You made this sound like one of your own Paul UK when Paul Canada had put out something that sounded like nobody else could possibly do. Great work both, and the new version really stands up on its own too.

Thanks it is then for the rainy weather in North East England. :) Hope it rains tomorrow!

My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Love the rockier and Britisher take on this one - the bass is a great and unusual feature. Really shows off other Paul's melodies. Maybe get him on BVs...
Super stuff.

Cool ............I do remember this one by the Canadian 'fella' and it bought a smile at the time - I think its been moved up a level by the northern 'fella'.
