@Cawproductions

As far as I am aware that is only if you want ongoing support

I have had my WAVES plugins for MANY (many many many) years - there are LOTS of good sales - and have never paid a penny extra to upgrade

@Cawproductions @Boydie - I can concur with Paul, it's perfectly fine to use old versions of Waves plugs, I got stung by some rather dodgy marketing from Waves...informing me that I'd lose my plugins if I didn't upgrade, it cost £175 for a year of not much. Waves plugs are generally very good, if not a little cpu hungry for some (not all). As far as I can see the upgrades are just small things like eye candy and maybe some reliability issues on certain DAWs.

The Waves SSL plugs are superb, I've both the the E and the G, however if I use a channel strip (which isn't that often) I'll use the Brainworx Neve emulation Console_N, it's really useful, the Waves NLS is also very good, a lot depends on the song, the Waves TG12345 is also another cracker for '60s songs.

going back to the original question - I do sometimes get some pain after long mixing sessions - @shadowfax what mouse do you use? I saw someone recommending the logitech mx mouse the other day which has a squillion buttons and a price tag to match but I'm definitely in the market for an upgrade from my normal small one.

Great info on the waves stuff, I do like them but steered away due to upgrade rumours. That good that you can use the original stuff,

I will keep my eye out for the deals I want.

also sorry @adamfarr, I hi jacked the thread here a little....apologies. Easy to get side tracked.

Cheers
