 Greetings ;D

I'm posting this, by way of a celebration, for the arrival of my new grandson ;D ;D. He was born yesterday.  No name yet.  I'm putting the pressure on for Dylan.
I've already got a Hendrix and a Lennon.  Now I've got a three piece ;D ;D ;D.  Anyway, a moment of joy in all this madness.....
Which brings me nicely onto this song....another moment of joy ;D ;D

 https://soundcloud.com/binladeda/lets-all-get-sick-on-a-corona-picnic

I put a rough backing track up for consideration by the Massive, and John took it on, and turned it into this masterpiece ;D.  I think he's really excelled here.
One of the best from the massive......I think so, anyway ;D ;D.  A great mix and production from John, along with some lovely touches on guitar, and some of the best singing
 I've heard from Mr.@pompeyjazz  ;D ;D ;D

As usual, all comments, critiques, advice, money...most welcome ;D
Take care. Stay safe, and look after the old folks ;D

BTW, I'm supposed to be putting a bit of lead on this, but I didn't get around to it yet...
but, if anyone out there fancies auditioning for the Massive....have at it ;D ;D ;D

  Lyrics..

  Escaping from the city
And heading for the coast
Sandwich box and tupperware
Is what you need the most
Desperate to take a trip
And dip your toes in briny
Just ten thousand others on
Another Picnic

Doesn't matter what you wear
Any kind of clothes
Everybody's free and easy
That's the way it goes
Let's get on -
A picnic

Everyone got busy
And all of us have needs
Heading for the countryside
To eat your wild seeds
Got to keep your distance
Got to keep it slick
Hope you don't get sick on your corona picnic

Doesn't matter what you wear
Any kind of clothes
Everybody will be there
And everybody knows
Let's get sick on
Another picnic

Break

Ten thousand sweaty bodies
Packed upon the beach
Nappy bags and old straw hats
Scattered round their feet
Everyone can make a trip
Do what you see is fit
Fell for the temptation
On another picnic

Doesn't matter what you wear
Any kind of clothes
Everybody will be there
And everybody knows
Just get sick on
Another picnic

Escaping from the city
And heading for the coast
Sandwich box and tupperware
Is what you need the most
Desperate to take a trip
And dip your toes in briny
Just ten thousand others on
Another Picnic

Doesn't matter what you wear
Any kind of clothes
Everybody will be there
And everybody knows
Don't get frustrated
As that's the way it goes
You've got to be slick on this illegal picnic

Let's not break with tradition, son.
Where's the lyrics?
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

That was a quick acquisition of lyrics.
Congratulations on the new grandson!

The track. Excellent production. How do you guys get away with it? Probably that ol' bxxxx talent.
Pompeyjazz has his usual vital urgency in his vocal.
Nice track. Well done.

First of all congratulations on the arrival of your new grandson !!! As for the song, I will start with the lyrics that have brought me to the news, portraying the confronted masses going towards the sea, the countryside, the terraces, the bars, all together ... Good, nothing happens, only the old people die. !!!

The mix is good, the guitars sound great and the voice reels with a touch of irony a history that affects us all ...
Congratulations guys, it looks like you had a great time doing the song!!!

Take care, take care and take care, because the mass always forgets  @Grubstar
I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

Wow, what a fusion of sounds, great feel to this one.
Great song topic - baffling behaviour.
Does it need a lead guitar too? Everything sounds great to me.
And ... congratulations!

The guitars are sublime!  What I really love is
the way you capture a real youthful vibrancy in the music. The musical interlude sounds like steel drums but it's difficult to tell listening on my mobile phone. Fantastic, energetic soundscape.

Steve my friend, congratulations on the birth of your grandson!  :)

Well this is interesting - a sort of 12 bar backing, but overlaid with funky jangly guitars and almost a Caribbean influence in places (sounded a bit like oil drums at 1 min 30 ish). Not a bad combo for just 3 mins 43!. Totally infectious rhythm (geddit?!) sucks you in. Very well put together, well played, great song. Absolutely Massive!

Hi guys,
Congratulations Mr B on your grandson - result! As for this track, I thought it was a breath of fresh air with a lovely happy, jangly vibe and a great vocal from Mr P. Just what we need to brighten these dark times. BTW, was that a jew's harp I heard twanging away in there or was it a synth?
