Hello

Well...this was all a bit sudden and accidental, really...

I had done an instrumental using some samples from "New York Brass" earlier in the year...but hadn't been able to think of a song to build around them. Then, last night, as I was listening on Soundcloud to do some reviews...my pleasure was interrupted by the latest british government coronavirus advert. Which made me think "ooh...I'm having that" so i grabbed it (and an earlier one) chopped it up and stuck it on there too. I felt obliged to add a sting to the tale, of course. An hour later, there it was/is.

It's short and sour...just how i (mostly) like it.

Clever juxtapositon of the staid and the exuberant. Cool production!!

Hey Paul, listening to this straight after Bin's "All Across America" and they are like cousins from across the two sides of the Atlantic.  Again, totally awesome backing track that makes me want to cut some serious rug... the horns sound really natural and uplifting - very modern northern soul sound... Makes me wanna wear some flares and do some backflips.  But I can't reconcile that feel good vibe with the narration unfortunately, which kinda pulls the rug out from under it for me before I get to cut it (I get it's an ironic combination... maybe I'm just looking for escapism tonight).  I could really imagine this track with some PaulAds genius lyrics, that'd be cool.
It's all too beautiful.

 Hi Paul,

Hope all is well old chap ;D.  This put a big smile on my ugly face this morning.  The punch line at the end is perfect ;D ;D. Made me sit up and laugh ;D ;D
Funny how we've both put a similar type of song out at the same time ;D.  Could be a good idea for a comp. at some time...

Great production. The vocal was seamless.....something I couldn't achieve ::).  Love it  ;D

I am also short and sour so this "resonated with me"! I am so glad that I do not have British government ads on my Soundcloud or I think some things round here would be broken.

Those horns really sound good by the way. And the chopping of the samples is really rhythmic. Not bad for an hour's work.

Hola @PaulAds

Here is the same but I did not have a such great idea as you!!!!
You should send it to the Government, all the radio could share it perfectly, it is a song with the appropriate lyrics for the moment we are living..
I like a lot the arrangement, so funky about the sound while the voice, so calm, telling what to do!!!
Sure Barry White would love to do this hahahah
I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

Okay. Paul you’re mental in a good way.
Very professional sound to this.
I think it’d be really fun if the bbc would have a bit of self irony and take to broadcasting this.
No explanation or warning.
Take care, big man!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

Great stuff Paul. in 10 years time when Dominic Cummings is on "Strictly Come Dancing" he should dance to this. Smart brass & super hook at the end.

What a great toe tapper of a track, so well produced and arranged  and so clever. The horns sound brilliant and the way you have cut in the the government Newspeak advert is brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Paul,
This sounds horribly like the announcements in "1984" by George Orwell. The timing of the clips with the backing track is very impressive. Like the twist at the end.
Clever, clever ,clever.

Nicely sharpened dart of satire there Paul! Just shows off your usefully warped imagination, one that would immediately seize on that government broadcast and think you could make something ironic out of it. Not many people could do that. Shame you're not making any money out of it!  ;D

Is New York Brass set samples Btw, or is it like SessionBand where you can manipulate it? Does sound pretty damn good.

Nice one, and over before you could polish off your McFlurry too!
My latest novel: pls check it out!

Hi Paul, brilliantly executed clever idea. Love those funky horns, how does that work? The calm delivery of the words is kind of unsettling against the idea of the pandemic.
Nice one Paul!

Cheers
