"It's Over"
by Tom Tognaci

https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14062893

Believe me when I say, "I love you"
But I can see the future, too
Somewhere there's got to be another
another love, other than you

I'm here to tell you that it's over!
The final knot has been untied
And, though you think this will blow over
That's just "so-you" tangled in pride.

With all there was, I tried, to tell you
I couldn't fit a word edgewise
Between the jibber and the jabber
you couldn't hear my weary sighs

I'm here to tell you that it's over!
Over, now that it's finally out
You say, compared to ice, I'm colder
But that's the curse you're all abut

I'm here to tell you that it's over!
At last there came that final straw
So cold, I turn to you this shoulder
What more a picture can I draw?
"I know the truth, by my struggle against it"

Hey Tom @IronKnee .....I love the authenticity of this production. It sounds like you are right here in the studio playing the song live.

Great vocals....and whistling!!!! How cool is that!!??

I like way the guitar moves the song and takes it out in a nice long fade.

Hi Tom,

I think I'm one of your biggest fans. Your songs are so musical in their marriage between guitar, vocals, melody and lyrics. Simple, sounds easy but isn't. Loved the whistling - sounded like it was from a spaghetti western. This material is my go to listening at home. I love the way this just rides along, the chord changes the beautiful simple melody and direct, honest delivery.
What a cracker.

I like it!  As Montydog says simple isn't easy, great tune and guitar.

Can't say I loved the whistling tbh.  I'm not against whistling in song (never in one of mine, I'm crap at it) but it is a bot Spaghetti western and I think the song is so much better than that.

Good stuff!

Hi Tom
Lovely acoustic guitar playing and vocals are great as usual.
I thought the melody lines were solid too
TBH the lyrics weren't as strong as they could have been.

I think maybe "It's Over" has been used so much it's lost it's impact IMHO.

But I'm likely FOS so ignore at will.

Thanks Unclenny...........thanks Montydog.......and thanks PeteS.
I really appreciate the encouragement.
As far as the whistling, it was an improv move to fill in for the instrumentation void created within the restrictions of this 1+1.
Again......thanks guys!!

Hi Paul............thanks for listening and commenting. yeah, the lyrics could be better....but it is a simple head strong, straight forward drive. Any suggs?
As far as the premise, it's hard to come up with completely original material....you know that. For instance, lost love.....love loves is a topic that has been around since songwriting itself.....just like break-up songs.
Hey good luck.......your stuff is always pretty dam solid.......kudos,

Hi
What a great acoustic country tinged song, I really enjoyed it. Deceptively simple, great guitar, lovely melodic vocals and very well crafted lyrics, I even enjoyed the whistling. 1st Class.

@IronKnee - nice work Tom, a middle 8 might work well, great vocal delivery with some creative melody lines
