Hi All, Decided to go for a rocker this time as I haven't done one for ages. I guess this is more of me going back to my musical roots. I hope that it works  :)

Just as I started to stutter
You pulled me out of the gutter
I'm stuck at traffic lights
With not another car in sight
And wonder which way to go
On such a dreadful night

Dazzled and dazed by the headlights
Foot to the floor and I couldn't do more
Destination clear
With just a lack of atmosphere
I just keep driving – Into the night

Just another night on the road
Trying to find my way home
But now it's very clear
I'm hardly out of second gear
I just keep driving
In the illegal zone

Everything is battered and broken
The purveyors of doom
Have crept in your room.

Ha!
Let me be the first to get a review in! I do like a good rocker with a pulsing bass line and Moon the Loon on drums. You have the perfect voice for this sort of song and it's all done so professionally. It's not the most profound or sophisticated song but that's not the point. It does what it says on the tin, very well indeed. A great listen.

It has a kind of fairground air to it, and rocking enough to be played on the go-faster waltzer ride! Catchy chorus too.

Big full sound and vocals, all of 'em sounding pretty good. Sounds like you enjoyed this one  :)
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Love the riff, and that Christmas-like sound of chords (I'm very bad at describing what I'm hearing and-
I really don't have the music terminology needed lol sorry) The vocals are spot on.
and though we cry
we must stay alive
let my blood only run out
when my world decides
there is no way out
of your only life
so run on...
run on

Your production on even a relatively simple song like this is superb John. So many different layers to keep it interesting. Great stuff.

eewwwwww...I like this. Love the way it flys. Immediate take off, and before you know it, we are entering orbt.
Good fun. Has a grungy, punk, old time RR sound to it, all wrapped up in an early 80's flavor.
Kudos.......

Rock! Rock! But also melody... great sounds all round - not always a fan of synths for rock but it works so well here, and also like when it drops out in the middle eight.
Nice little lead work on the guitars too... Very cool and fun, but...

what's the illegal zone?!

Great straight up rocker...with no pissing about.

Great chord changes. Organ works brilliantly tinkling away in the background.

Backing vocals are naturally fab. Guitar chips away mercilessly.

Instantly recognisable and sounds very much like your natural habitat. And what a very nice habitat it is.

Off to give her another spin now 😃

This is right up my street. Good unpretentious rock music. Drums are really excellent. You’ve really taken the time to sequence them and they really drive the whole piece. Guitars have a great sound too. Overall the production is spot on. Vocal melody in the verse is really infectious too.  job done.

Top work Pomps. Yep it's a traditional rocker in some ways but the major-chord-ness of it somehow felt unusual to me too... very upbeat.  Great vocals as ever.  Best of all though... do I hear one of the Clangers supplying some guest vocals right at the end?!
While an aircraft is about to crash in the background?! Stroke of surreal genius...
It's all too beautiful.

My last feedback, probably, for a week or two. Leaving for the "dead zone" tomorrow, as central extreme northern Minnesota is known. Not sure how long I will be there. Helping to tend my father whose health is failing. I will provide some of the music he loves to sing along to.

This will be brief, as I really have no nits to report. Loved the sound of it and was promptly inspired to try something similar. One of these days. When life calms down. If that ever happens....  I really, really like the melody line. Words are intriguing. I have no idea what the song means, but it's still interesting to hear.

@pompeyjazz - Whato Johnners, to me the beginning this sounded like a cracking Show Tune genre, I just had this image of loads of dancers flying about.

As always well delivered and produced. Love the BV's, just the right level.

Very very nice
