@MonnoDB and @Jamie

So glad you liked this one.
I’ve got a good few songs coming up, for the most part ready.
Though learning all the bloody time I’m still quite happy with the new material.
I can’t wait to be done with the albums I’ve been working on.
I want to get back into acoustic and live performance.

Do stay tuned!
Rightly.
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

Hola @rightly

Your song has something strange, very unique as well your way of singing.
I think it could be a poem of hesitations.
I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

The 'listen to you' hook is very conventionally catchy for you, although minimal it helps you momentarily  bridge over to pop ballad territory. This works after such a musically skeletally build up.

Interesting to read the comment above on your voice above. It's definitely a unique voice and your poetic lyrics seem to suit this delivery style. Yes sometimes less than perfect, definitely not commercially polished, but raw and kind of humanly vulnerable. I think I've just got used to it as your style and as it suits your songs, never really get concerned about technical accuracy. But interesting to hear fresher ears on the subject, which is always good for us as writers and performers.
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

I was thinking of Scott Walker...and checked only to find that John got there before me...well...with his brothers....

More leaps and bounds here for you, R...I thought the drums in particular were really good.

I was also thinking of how i kind of miss the guitar/vocal songs like you used to do.

Plenty of room for both, i reckon.

Top drawer lyrics...and massively original.

I can’t to get back to the acoustic again.
I’ve a beautiful electric too, I might switch to that completely.
There’ll be less complications on stage with the electric, I think.
It’s a pretty one though. I’ll have to stay dry to watch out for opportunists.

Later. Hey maybe in the Friday night zoom.

Hi Rightly
To my ears the drums were really prominent on this and were the hero feature.
Your distinctive vocals were cool too - it had a quite a 'live' feel to it in my opinion. I thought it was a bit more soulful than some of your stuff.  As ever some great almost cryptic lyrics from you which are always a joy to attempt to decode.
It's all too beautiful.

Hi Rightly, I definitely like the more melodic side of this one. The backing is very accomplished too - the strings and organ (and drums) really work well.

I'd agree that this does sound like a first vocal take and that the next vocal take might be "the one" - but then maybe the 50th practised take would also lose something so who knows.

Love that "turn my screw... come undone" line. It's a cool song.

Thanks for your comments
I really appreciate this site for the likes of you.

Due to peer group pressure I’m going to have to give up the struggle and agree
The vocal is a first take, and the Song newish.
This would account for the roughness.
Still a little voice is saying
Ah leave it alone
It’s off balance as is the theme of the song, ...
Are you not going to let me get away with it?
My reasoning here is fairly coherent. Lol.

Good bless yous
I’m going shopping! (Literally).
