Hello this a collaboration with Pompey Jazz in the new wave/punk style........about those annoying people who seem to have an opinion about everything and are not shy in sharing it.....Inspired by Jilted John and the other new wave Comedic songs of the late 70's....Also included are a few local (Portsmouth) Slang words and references.

(NOTE - There are a few Expletives)

https://soundcloud.com/oooheroutons/have-a-day-off-mush

Lyrics – Have a a day off mush

Here he comes now  - what's he going to say now.
An opinion for every occasion – don't get in his way now.
He's an expert on things that he doesn't have any know how
But that wont stop him talking Bolllox  - he never slows down

He really should be called Richard Head.
When we see him we all dread.
All his talk of a final push.
And one in the hands worth two in the bush.

So please.................
Have a day off mush.
Have a day off mush.
Have a day off mush.

He thinks he is the king of the internet
All over twitter and facebook like a cheap blanket.
Looking for as many likes as he can get.
Thinks he knows more than you could ever forget

But he was an empty vessel from the start
Makes more noise than Fratton Park.
Always someone new to hate
Philosopher General of the garden gate.

So please.................
Have a day off Mate
Have a day off mate.
Have a day off Mate.

Likes to ram his views right down your throat
But he doesn't even bother to vote.
He got the paddle but he's got no boat
Hes conviced his views will keep the world afloat

Thinks he's Mr Personality but he's just dull.
Everything he does is a great big fail.
Loathes himself inside you can tell.
But why he got to make everyone else's life hell.

So Please................
Have a day off Pal
Have a day off Pal.
Have a day off Pal.

We can do without your brand of common sense
Please keep your views right upon the fence
We dont really want to hear what you've go to say.
Everyone thinks you're a dinlo anyway..............

So please.................
Have a day off mush.
Have a day off mush.
Have a day off mush.

Great, a song about me! Thanks guys!!!  ;D

I love this era, and you've captured its energy and that niche kitschy, mad thing that bands like Splodgenessabounds embodied. Great fun, even the expletives delivered with perfect timing to comic effect.

I was a bit distracted by the side panned lead vocals mind, but I guess it did keep some separation from the power punk guitar chords.

Great big slice of punky fun and cheered me up big time!
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Love this, fellas!

Bags of energy and attitude and has that brilliant fun and infectious feel that could have resulted in a 1979 top twenty hit.

Some great lines in there...I love a bit of invective...lead vocal sounds really brilliant  on a song that i would have thought had PJ's name written all over it...it almost doesn't sound like MFJ...as it's quite different to his normal delivery...but i'm guessing it must be him (?) Anyway, it's great, whoever it is. It's brilliant to hear a singer really get stuck in and go for it. That final "go on, f*ck off" towards the end sounds perfect and I suspect you've administered that particular coup de grace on many a previous occasion.

Excellent :)

Love the energy and not too serious but heartfelt sentiments. Great to hear a different side of Mofojo. I'd probably put the vocal in the middle and double the guitars one each side, and the vocal should probably come up a bit. But plenty of attitude and very fun listen.

Great suff.  Definitely got the Jilted John vibe... also a a bit of Graham Coxon (who I'm sure was also in thrall to 'Gordon is a Moron').  I really like that late 70s/early 80s era for tracks like this... when punk developed a sense of humour.  The ad lib spoken bits are really funny too.  Very English brand of pub-band-punk and what's not to love about that.
It's all too beautiful.

Yeah, wots not to like about this? enjoyed the expletives alot ;D definitely a hit in the olden days, pity the music scene (particularly on the radio) is so narrow...this could be a hit now.

super song! :) 8)

Bit late to the party on this one, but think it's great. As has been mentioned, Jilted John is def a comparison, as is early Blur.

Certainly brightened my day up :)

@Morefrog Jones
This is funny and very much in the vein of Jilted John and that brief post-punk era when the weird guys came out of the woodwork. I agree that the vocals need to be in the middle with the guitars split left and right but otherwise it sounds great. Loads of clever wordplay - a first class slice of nuttiness.

Hola @Morefrog Jones  @pompeyjazz

You have achieved the sound of this fresh and shameless style ... And the lyrics, sung like that, go well, it makes you smile.
Regarding the voices, I think the same as @PaulAds
regarding "go on fock off ..."  it is your particular icing

Merry Christmas
