Hi, A song about a guy trying to persuaded his girl not to dump him...and yeah, the production makes it sound 80's..I gotta get outa this habit somehow :(

https://soundcloud.com/knmac/now-or-never-by-knmac

Hey, can't you see, it's the only way it should be,
though your love is gone, you linger on,
in my window of extasy..
fade, into blue, when I thought my love would breakthrough,
did I misconstrue, when I fell for you,
It was the only thing I could do,

Don't let me go, love me forever,
don't ever, set me free.
you've captured my soul,
it's now or never, don't ever,
let me be..

clouds fill my eyes,
when I think of your last goodbyes,
as you walked away, left me castaway,
I could only, wonder why,
Hold on to you,
is the only thing I wanna do,
If you turn away,
after leading me astray,
then You've hit me, right out of the blue,

Don't let me go, love me forever,
don't ever, set me free.
you've captured my soul,
it's now or never, don't ever,
let me be..

take a moment and think awhile,
let me hold you again,
I'll remember the way you smile,
in the faces of all my friends,

Guitar solo

Don't let me go, love me forever,
don't ever, set me free.
you've captured my soul,
it's now or never, don't ever,
let me be..©KNmac

best to all and stay safe... :)

Hi Kev, yes 80s sounding but nothing wrong with that. A lovely rock ballad with the usual @shadowfax polished level of production. Loved the melody and great harmonies. No nits from me :)

Instantly recognisable as KNMac - but what I like is that there's always a lot of thought behind each arrangement and I don't think I've ever heard two the same.

Here I absolutely love the synth bass (I think it's that) and the classical guitar (I was really glad it made a reappearance at the end).

A super-big production with plenty of interest and variation - again!

What a perfectly lovely song so well written and sung. Fantastic piano arrangement throughout and  I thought the chorus was great, I also loved the tasteful guitar solo after the middle 8.Great job.

Very pro sounding song...dreamy and enchanting......it has your style all over it but as you say what can you do???.....This has a 1980's TV Series feel to it....can imagine it at the end of a episode of Bergerac or something.

Your vocals are always so smooth and have this dreamy quality to them that
really grab you, I think this is excellent. Harmonies & Melody really shine, the mix
is well balanced and it flows very well. great job !

Hi @shadowfax
It is a beautiful ballad, having at some moments a Beatles color, full of melancholy and, of course, love.

I like a lot this line
"clouds fill my eyes,
when I think of your last goodbyes"

Now that is a beautifully controlled build up Mr @shadowfax , you wouldn't imagine the relatively full sound to come from that fragile beginning.

Nicely slowed down in the middle, great space to breathe, then the acoustic solo is very sweet.

Lovely song in so many ways and terrific production too.

Beautiful song @shadowfax  .. sad... and you really get that emotion across.. that pleading .. with a tiny glimmer of hope.. tiny but there. Very well done. And I agree with the others - that guitar solo work is just lovely..

Fantastic!

Hi Kev

Lovely song. Impeccably performed and recorded. Listening on my monitors, initially I wondered if the mix was a little bass-light...and then immediately realised that probably meant i do everything a little bass-heavy - because you're always on the money with your productions :)

Always look forward to hearing your stuff. And never disappointed!

Real quality.

Your stuff is always great but in my book ballads is what you do best, this is no exception.
Think the (great!) vocals could come forward a little in the mix.
The hihat at e.g. 2 min is a bit too up front /energetic, when it goes away it feels a bit abrupt.
Good build and dynamics, the acoustic guitar solo is a very nice touch.
Well done!

Hello Kev,
I honestly don't think you're capable of making a bad record. All the things you need to make a great song are here in spades. I like the gentle vocal and the subtle use of instrumentation, particularly the piano. The classical guitar is off the scale and the pads are beautifully arranged. What more can I say?
