Morning all, hope that you're all hanging on in there. Sometimes songs just seem to happen really fast. I had the idea of writing something with a laid back more modern vibe last Friday afternoon and got a backing track together. I sent it to Cecile @Melusine2 and by Saturday she had written lyrics and had recorded the vocals. Sunday, I added a M8, threw in a guitar solo for good measure and mixed and that was it  :)

Hope that you enjoy our latest creation :)

Dans les méandres
de nos vies ou tout
doit aller vite
Dans les méandres
de nos vies ou tout est si
lisse

Prenons le temps
de se découvrir
Prenons le temps
de se ravir

Quelque chose de fou
Quelque chose d'intense

Quelque chose d'intense
Quelque chose de nous
qui nous met en transe

Dans les méandres de
nos vies si agités
Dans les méandres de
nos vies si désaxées

Touchons du doigt
l'intensité du moment
Touchons du doigt
La magie de l'instant

Quelque chose de fou
Quelque chose d'intense
Quelque chose de nous
qui nous met en transe

Dans les méandres
de nos vies si fragiles
Dans les méandres de nos vies
si futiles

Prenons le temps de nous aimer
Prenons le temps de nous évader

Quelque chose de fou
Quelque chose d'intense
Quelque chose de nous
qui nous met en transe

There I was catching some UV's with my martini on my Scooner off the coast of St trop with my topless nubiles sunbathing at the pointed end when suddenly..pop!, the song ended and I'm back in the studio and it's pissing down outside, so yeah, atmosphere captured big time my friend...didn't understand a word though but loved it, something about the French accent innit!!

Very chilled.....Sounds great......guitar solo fits in seamlessly.
Suits the weather where i am very well......a hot summer sizzler.
My school boy french worked out most of the lyrics - but not sure it matters anyway.

Magical language... and lovely words.. beautifully delivered with a moody grabby track inspiring it all..

I really love this! I've always been a sucker for songs in French so that was always going to pull me in.. this delivers perfectly .. Well done guys - another cracker! You are SUCH a great team!

Listening on laptop so that sure meddles with the full experience but I sure like the vibe here. Nice sounds used overall. It somehow feels "french" so the lyrics are more than appropriate (I dunno what the lady is singing, I choose german in school...)
The only thing I negatively notices is that its a bit, what can I say, harsh on the top freqs. The T:s and the s:es jumps out but as stated, I am on laptop.

Mmmmm......what a refreshing experience. I liked the way that you've chosen a musical setting that supports the main event (the vocals/song) without ever getting in the way. The guitar solo adds some bite and stops it being too MOR. Can't hear anything I'd change - it's another brilliant piece from you. I'm in awe.

Very nice vibe on this John and Cecile has a lovely voice. Guitar solo works well to change it up a bit. The only thing I noticed is that some of the harmonies need tightening up just a bit at the start. (That's not a knock on a lovely vocal performance. 😁👍🏻Just something to look into at the mixing stage.)
Great stuff guys!😁🎶👊🏻🎶

Oh @pompeyjazz

I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

I think it's fascinating to have @Melusine2 's presence in these songs. Apart from being obviously talented, there's just something different and fresh in the cadence and tones of French which she (you both) exploit to the full. The double vocal is really effective and everything fits together as it should (as montydog says, the backing really serves the song).

Super cool and unique stuff. Love it.

Hi guys, another genre bending collaboration. Great laid back feel, lovely keyboard touches and a nice guitar solo. Brilliant singing, particularly liked the backing vox.
Nice one!

Cheers

Hi Pomps and Cecile,

really easy listen, as ever great arrangement and vocals, Has a very sexy feel, (can I even say that on here?) a bit like that Je t'aime track.

You doin a great job writing stuff on the fly pomps, sounds like you have a great writing partnership going.

Great listen here.

@pompeyjazz - Superb work You 2, nothing to add, as Andy ( @Cawproductions ) said the Vocal mix is pretty blimmin good.

Think I'd have put a B3 in there instead of a gtr solo, with my hand on the mod wheel..just an idea John.

Very nice indeed, Cecile - Lovely vocal work, spot on in your range.

What does it mean? Reminds me of my French Teacher Mrs Smilie who was a right cow, got 0% for one french exam.

Merci Ricard.

This is a song that captures a great atmosphere @pompeyjazz and @Melusine2. I really like how the sultry voice comes in at the start of the verses, then how this is layered and built on with the sweet higher harmonies. Such a great mood achieved and all the more impressive that you can create such a thing at such speed, which shows the strength of your compatibility as collaborators.

Very catchy synth work too. I think you might yet come up with a hit record or two!

Nothing from The Clangers though this time. Shame that  ;)
My latest novel: pls check it out!

Great song, you two...dripping in atmosphere.

Loved the vaguely Japanese-sounding synth (does that make me an accidental racialist?) that underpins it. Really cool guitar solo and that super voice weaving it's way into our subconscious...

Really brilliant.

I just wanted to say a very big Thank You to all of you who have taken time to listen / review this latest song. I am truly bowled over with the response  :)

@shadowfax Sorry about transporting you back to the North East. Next time I'm in the St Tropez area, I'll drop by and you can take me for a trip on the Schooner  :)

@Morefrog Jones Thanks man, glad we captured that sunny laid back vibe :)

@MonnoDB Thanks so much Karen. It's fascinating working with a song sung in French. I just can't imagine this one being sung in English - I think it opens up some other fascinating dimensions

@skogge Thanks for the observations. I'll check them out - Really appreciate the listen

@montydog Wow ! Alan, praise indeed. Much appreciated especially coming from you.

@LostBoy Cheers Leo and thanks for the observation. As you know when you're mixing you sometimes get beyond the "objective" stage and this is why this forum is such a fabulous place :)

@moraamarolaloba - Merci beaucoup pour votre belle critique. c'est très apprécié

@adamfarr Thank you Adam - Yes, the power of the collaboration as we were talking about last Friday. Really appreciate your review

@Jamie Cheers Jamie - I did manage to get some subtle bv's onto the track in the last 2 verses.

@Cawproductions - Cheers Andy - No, I don't think you're allowed to say that  ;D I think if we managed to create that ambience then I'm well happy  :)

@cowparsleyman - I can see exactly where you're coming from with the B3 Rich - But I ain't gonna fiddle with this one any more as you know what can happen sometimes :)

@MichaelA - Cheers man, sorry about the lack of Clangers references this time. Maybe on the next one ? Your review is very much appreciated.

@PaulAds Thanks Paul - Actually I have Rich @cowparsleyman to thank about the synth - It's that Hybrid synth that we talked about when we were discussing a Rave track - It's pretty versatile for sure. I really enjoyed mixing the vocals on this one. It's different from when you're mixing your own vocals as I usually have a pretty bog standard FX chain but with somebody else's vocals it's a whole new ball game.

Thank You all so much once again
