I plucked this song out the air. It took no more than 7-8 minutes to write the harmony, vocal melody and lyrics.  It's now delightful to play on my acoustic guitar and it melts the heart of Mrs Deeds.  My happiness was a long time in coming but now it's here, I want to write about this beautiful experience.

The Golden Age

The Golden Age is upon us now;
the sun is in the sky.
May your dreams begin where your sadness ends.
It's time for us to fly.

Be strong in my presence,
safe in my arms.
Walk tall, let you love grow.
Rejoice in it's charm.

The Golden Age  is the place to be.
It's home for you and me.
The summer's long when you're by my side.
We've been waiting patiently.

Know that we are happy;
that we're blessed on the breeze.
See the view from the forest
as our hearts climb through the trees.

The Golden Age will surround us both
That's my sacred oath to you.

This is super, Paul.

Beautiful writing...and has such a natural flow to it.

Puts a lot of supposedly very good writers to shame.

I expect you'll cook up a fabulous tune to go with it!

Hi Paul, it's great to see songwriters celebrating and appreciating 'golden times', not done often enough really. As a voice of experience you will have had ups and downs, but it's lovely to hear of you enjoying the better side of life and being so honest to share your feelings openly.

Nice to meet you virtually the other night, and I look forward to hearing this one later on sometime.
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Thank you @CaliaMoko. I'll hopefully get around to recording this one soon 😊

@PaulAds, you are too kind my friend. This is lijely to be a guitar vocal sketch. I could elaborate but I often like the simplicity of a voice and a single instrument.

@MichaelA  thank you my friend. Yes, it was good to put faces to names recently. I've unfortunately been busy with work commitments but hope to make an aooearance at the bar tonight. 😊

Outstanding lyrics
I know you’ve got the skills to express it with music.
I’m looking forward to hearing.
Good imagery.

Very nice.
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.
