Hi....just finally found some time to finish this off - Inspired by some Lyrics from Sterix
from this post (http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=16031.0)

This is It's Just A Game We're Playing....Its not about anything in particular...People can put their own meaning on it if they wish.

https://soundcloud.com/oooheroutons/its-just-a-game-were-playing-demo

Lyrics
Its a hard hard hard cruel world.......Welcome to reality
Too much pain & hurt .....wrapped up in humanity
We try, we cry, we fail....thats the nature of the rules
You're eyes so pale.......looks like you've just leaned the truth.

The lonely the dieing, the crying all sat upon the wall
No-one there to help us ...watch us while we crawl.

We all know that its just a game were playing
odds stacked against us - against us all
We all know that its just a game were playing
But i'll do my best to catch you when you fall.

Always get the bad bad calls...no-one seems to give a damn
always play our parts so well ...up to our necks in the scam
We beg we plead and we call...but our prints are all over the case
The lies get so stale ...Its a truth we cannot face

The useless, the wailing, the failing
All sat upon the shore
Like the king on his throne with his feet wet
We never learn at all

We all know that its just a game were playing
odds stacked against us - against us all
We all know that its just a game were playing
But i'll do my best to catch you when you fall.

Many thanks in advance if you have had a listen.....comments welcome

Gotta good groove, Mofo..........I like the lyric...the music could use a bit more variance.
Like the female "moan" touch..adds some real soul to the whole atmosphere.
Good stuff.....

Digging this groove @Morefrog Jones @Sterix sure does have a huge stash of quality lyrics. Got a kind of Stone Roses feel to this, it's pretty infectious, great rhythms going down. Great to see you back on the forum  :)

Got a quirky funky feel to it Mr Mofo, plus I like the placements of the panned instruments. They do sit well together.

Yeah sounds like Madchester c Inspiral Carpets...and with its repetitious groove would make a pretty decent dance track. Not that you'd be getting me on my feet these days, despite your infectious offering  :D
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Dig that groove, baby...as the Toy Dolls put it.

Organ tootles along very nicely and funky guitar contrasts nicely with it. Drums are tighter than tight.

The forum is a better place when you're around with your instinctive and distinctive indie-flavoured gems.

Great stuff!

+1 on the groove, it's there for sure. Crisp mix but on headphones the fact that the lead vox is not centered makes the whole thing leaning over to one side. IMO the vocals need to come up in the mix as well.

@Morefrog Jones

Hi ,great groove, like the E Piano sound. I found the off centre vocals off putting. Does have a touch of the Manchester sound.

Very good

Cheers

Agree there's a fab groove to this @Morefrog Jones .. completely infectious, grabs you from the get go...I also found the vocal panning a little challenging for my little ears...

Great track! I particularly love that "aah" BV. towards the end.. Completely sticky!

Hi MJ,

Agree with the others - great Madchester vibe. Makes me want to watch that Steve Coogan film, 24 Hour Party People.
Did feel a bit odd having the vocal to one side.

Very enjoyable trip though.

Cheers everyone - 'Vocal to one side' is part of my trade marks half decent song....Terrible technical production.....I'll try and fix it when i can....I just like writing the songs but hate the technical stuff....Must do better!!!

Hi MoFo ;D.  Hope all is well.

Nice to hear that distinctive vocal again.  Suits this song really well.  Love the laid back groove, and all the little bips and bops, especially those BV's.
Thought it needed a bit more contrast along the way, as it's quite long ;D  A very enjoyable listen old chap ;D.  Great to see you're still at it... ;D

 Take care...STAY SAFE
