Hey, I remember this one - the "fresh cut hair" line remains an excellent one!
I'd also put a little less reverb on your voice and I'm not sure that shaker (?) is really necessary. But it is an impressively large production and such a good song - including the guitar solo, which I thought was nice indeed.

@IronKnee - Hi Tom

Interesting song, just listening while I write...yeah nice picking on your acoustic.

I agree with paul about the delay on the vox, just pull back a tad..

I really thought it was going to launch into a hefty rock thing, good work and great separation

I guess a solo of some kind would work.

Thanks cowparsleyman....I'm glad you liked it. I appreciate it....thanks, again, for listening!

Hi, really enjoyed the vocals on this one, very nicely performed and recorded. Acoustic guitars sounds great I always have trouble recording them :P. Has an American feel to it, can't quite put my finger on why......
Very good
Cheers
Jamie

Thanks for listening and commenting, Jamie.....well, I am American........not so sure if that automatically qualifies me for the sound, however.
Anyways.....I appreciate the kind words!!

I've listened to this song a few times now and I've really enjoyed it. I think its a fabulous piece of Americana with a lovely wistful chorus. Great acoustic guitar playing, great vocals and a beautiful warm  production.

And thank you Grubstar for the generous words, as well!!

Tom,
Neat tune, liked the lyrical sentiment.
Catchy backing and chorus really works.
And layered vocals and strings sounding good too.
Not entirely convinced whether you need the vocal fx
:-)

Hi Tom

Lovely song - great melodies and chord progressions.
Vocals sound great as usual and Paul did a fine job orchestrating it.
And your acoustic picking is still amazing to a mere keyboard playing wannabee guitarist.
I think I'd change the title to "I'd Rather be Alone" because Eric Carmen used that one already :D

Good stuff
Paul

What's with the last comment! I suppose we re all allowed to express our opinions  ::)

Hey Tom, I thought it was good lyrically. Didnt dig the delay on your voice I agree with others on that one.  I did think the production was decent.

Thanks Neil....I'm glad you like it....the reverb is for a certain atmosphere that I'm rather pleased with.....I guess, most people are put off, but that's the nature of the beast. If I revisit this song again in a recording setting, I will tone down the RVerb to hear the difference.
Thanks, again!

Hey there arshit......I can assure you it's real, but if it's not your cup, it's ok.....'tis only a song ;-)
Thanks!!

Hi Tom,

I really like the soundscape on this. Very dreamy quality.
Would have liked those beats a little louder.

Strong vocals and melodies.

Very fine song.

It was outstanding.  I knew it would be. Your songs are predictably excellent.

Interesting parallel between your line "rather be alone all by myself."

I expressed the same sentiment in a song in a different way.

"Being alone is the one thing that
is best done all by yourself."

Being 'alone, but with somebody' sucks.  I know personally.  ;o)
