I`ve just got the basic Soundcloud but thinking of getting the SC pro unlimited or Go+. Seems a bit expensive (I´m a tight sod) but would love to hear if people think they are worth it. Cheers. :)

I agree, I have the go+ unlimited, and that's definitely worth the wallop, I would pay just to be able to hear anything I want, often I've been recommended songs by folk and I can hear the tunes.

I think one of the features I use the most is the 'Replace' - this allows me to overwrite a song with another, it happens so often, I'll have a better mix, and I'll just replace the old one for the new one, it's not possible without the enhanced subscription.

The other nice bits are now 'Distribute' (which allows you to release your own tracks for money...and now you can add a direct paypal link so kind folk can donate money to help a struggling artist...The Stats are always engaging..and will keep you amused for hours.

Hope this helps man.

it's money well spent.

@5 guys named Lars

Another +1 for SoundCloud Pro from me

On top of the great reasons already mentioned I really like using SoundCloud to distribute completed mixes/masters to clients via a private link with the download option checked

They then receive the SoundCloud streamed version to preview the song straight away on any device but are also able to download a pristine, uncompressed, file as well

It has been rock solid for me and I think it is a little easier for clients than Dropbox, google drive, one drive etc.

@pompeyjazz @cowparsleyman @Boydie Thanks for the advice boys. Money is tight but I`m going to cancel my subscription to "Slug Monthly" & get the Pro Unlimited.
   Cheers ! :)

So is pro unlimited worth the extra dosh? I'm on the pro thingy which has replace file and stats but not quite getting what the other benefits are... ;D

I'm with @shadowfax . I have SoundCloud Pro, but no the unlimited level. I have searched repeatedly and fruitlessly for information regarding the difference between Pro and Pro Unlimited. I'm thinking it might only be the "unlimited" part. If so, I only need Unlimited if I fill up my Pro version. If I'm wrong and someone knows why, I hope to see it on this thread. Otherwise I'll just stick with Pro. Unless I use up all my space.

Hi..

I'm on Soundcloud Pro too - not the unlimited version. It has a max of 6 hours upload time, which I'm close to reaching - twice the free version.. Otherwise it's more or less the same as the unlimited version except no scheduled releases... but who would need that on SC..

Here's an outline of all the plans:

https://help.soundcloud.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003568408-Learn-about-our-Pro-plans

It costs me less than half of what they're quoting there though... legacy account on auto-renew I guess.. I tried to find someone to haggle with when we were setting up our Ashes for Dreams account but I have to say that I've never come across a company so averse to providing someone to talk to - it is nigh on impossible to find a human to interact with unless you are looking to advertise with them..

I'm on the pro unlimited version but I do have quite a few songs on there. I find it really useful when I'm working on collaborations when I can post various versions as private downloadable shares and delete them later, plus you can always listen to what you are currently working on on any device. It costs around £80 pa I think and the stats are entertaining. I couldn't believe that I had 6 listens in Mongolia one day  ;D

Hi @pompeyjazz @Boydie , on pro I can do everything you've mentioned so still not getting why pro unlimited is better (apart from being able to post more hours of songs) not sure about listening on any device means though..I can listen on the phone and puter..what else does anyone listen on?
please excuse my thickness on this subject if I'm missing something...

@shadowfax

That is pretty much it - unlimited hours as opposed to 6hours

If you can work within 6 hours I would say there is little point upgrading to "unlimited" as the other additional features are pretty underwhelming:

https://help.soundcloud.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003568408-Learn-about-our-Pro-plans

I personally decided to pay the little bit extra to prevent paying for an additional online storage option

Thank you for that answer Paul,...you've spawned another question though..why do you have (pay for) on line storage when it's easy and cheap to have a few terabyte hard drives as back up and storage? just curious if I'm (again) missing something.. :)

@Boydie

cheers, Kevin

@shadowfax

For sharing and disaster recovery

There is an adage that data is not safe unless it is in 3 different places

I am obsessed with physically small hard drives with high storage capacities - and try to keep a backup at home and keep another at my parents’ house - the Cloud is a convenient 3rd option

I don’t like the rental aspect of cloud storage so reserve it for important stuff or things for sharing
