Hi
Well at last this seems the light of day.
Written and recorded, vocals apart, on Garageband on my iPhone, I give you my James Bond entry.

I was hoping to find a big singer for this but failed. Anyway it was fun to try and do something which has all that history associated with it.

Look forward to what you think and thanks for the listen.

The clocks strike midnight
The stage is set
For a deadly encounter
So please place your bet

In deep and its black
Guarded by ghosts it’s time to attack

There’s no time to die. Not even a second
There’s no time to cry, what’s done is done
A simple lie, no more goodbyes
Don’t ask permission or wonder why?
There’s no time to die

The payload is readied
The trap well set
Cross hairs are locked
It’s fire and forget

In deep and its black
Guarded by ghosts it’s time to attack

There’s no time to die. Not even a second
There’s no time to cry, what’s done is done
A simple lie, no more goodbyes
Don’t ask permission or wonder why?
There’s no time to die

There’s no going back
But behind your back
You won’t see that
I’ve found the crack

In deep and its black
Guarded by ghosts it’s time to attack

There’s no time to die. Not even a second
There’s no time to cry, what’s done is done
A simple lie, no more goodbyes
Don’t ask permission or wonder why?
There’s no time to die

The streets are all empty
Like a silent threat
Leave without trace
Or any regret

This is a good song Neil, good lyrics and good tune, I would've been happy to have a go at singing it :) my only crit is it seems a bit on the dry side but that's the only crit my friend... :)

Hi Neil, Good song Neil, subtle nods to Bond musical themes which worked nicely without being too obvious.I agree with Kevin about it being a bit dry would have benefited from a bit of'verbage' ! String arrangement sounded good.

Nice one!
Cheers

Hi
Another interesting and enjoyable James Bond song. Good lyrics and vocals and I particularly liked the chorus. The instrumentation and arrangement though seemed a bit sparse in parts  and maybe needed something to push it along a bit more.Good song though.

Hi Neil,

The guitar motifs add Bond without being totally lifted from the trademark Bond theme.
The arrangement is very good, but my crit would be lacks a little atmosphere. As others have mentioned maybe this is the dryness of the production. Somehow needs some darkness mixing in there. Perhaps it's too clean? The elements are all there for sure.

Hmm, all I was about to say was already said... anyway, yes this is a good song and well performed/produced but I can't help hearing @Paulski singing it, that would take it to the next level. Add a 'bigger' sounding production and you have the score for the next Bond movie for sure, well done!

this is a grower for sure ..
no rockets or explosions but the chorus creeps up on you and gets in your hair !
words and images.. 'guarded by ghosts..'
like the surprise & contrast of the change sequence..
your a bit of a mischief monkey with changes..and way you bring it in.. works well.. mind you would have liked that to have led to a 'connor' solo but..
fine work mate

i may not believe this tomorrow...

Hi Neil

Piano intro was great! Lyrics are excellent with lots of thoughtful and clever lines. Chord changes threw me all over the place...like a man being dragged off with a hood over his head and bundled onto a plane to a facility in some piss-pot country where christ only knows what happens to him until they realise he knows naff-all and let him go.

I enjoyed the fairly laid back feel to it. Bond often seems to bring out the drama queen in everyone...but not here, thank you very much.

Cool tune for sure.

You'd make a great secret agent, I reckon...we'd never suspect a thing...whereas Bond would be dead before dinner time with his tuxedo and his fancy car and his knockout birds and his gadgets and what-have-you.

Nice one Neil, you bring restraint and subtlety to the brief here.  Really like the chorus vocal melody, and those slightly ghostly spy-movie guitars that come in there... and then the middle 8 introduces some really interesting chord progressions.  It's a stripped back take on the theme which gives plenty of space for the lyrics to shine.
It's all too beautiful.

Good song Neil. This will make a breat addition to the album IMO.
As others have said - subtle but effective.
Good memorable chorus and lyrics.
I thought your vocals sounded fab too.

Enjoyed it muchly
