This was my somewhat contrary take on writing a James Bond song.

Blowback

Out for revenge
And in for the kill
A stubborn refusal
To bend to your will

Scores to be settled
Debts to be paid
Agreements torn up
Where fortunes were made

The point of a bayonet
The sole of a boot
The hum of a drone
To end the dispute

You don’t hear their cries
But no-one forgets
The blood never dries
Where the sun never sets

INST

Scratching your head
And wondering why
The natives are restless
Won’t lay down and die

All over the world
We're under attack
You reap what you sow
It's starting to crack…

Blowback.

Any thoughts/suggestions/defence of the realm welcome  :P

Great song Paul......great sound recording. The lyric was very cryptic and melted nicely into the melody. I found my foot tapping ( and I didn't even tell it to do that! 8) )
Very good performances, and the sublime recording paints a great image.
Good stuff!

Very amusing opening cameo, before bursting into that really catchy chord progression and then the infectious riffing. Drives along very nicely aided by that very muscular bass. But the instrumental interlude was my favourite bit, could almost stand up as a composition in itself.

You've made it purposely short and not noticing this I felt a bit short changed by the sudden ending. The driving nature of the song made me want it to continue and build even to an even more dramatic conclusion. That said, brevity is not my strong point!

Another good 'un from you all the same - very prolific as you are. :)
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Hi Paul,
An anti establishment Bond theme....Loved the drums, vocals  and the instrumental sections, very catchy. Great idea to turn the whole establishment Bond theme upside down. Great listen, enjoyed it!

Cheers

Fabulous stuff as usual Paul. From that twangy open riff and the great punchy Rick bass sound. There's a real sense of urgency and danger to this track. Top class as ever  :)

Love it! The bass line (and the sound of it) is great and I'd spot your vox from miles away. Lots going on with the guitars and God know what more, a banjo? 12-string? Mandolin? Zither? ;-)
Anyway, really catch, driving, rebellious and overall excellent!
