Hi,
Here's my little contribution to the seasonal challenge. Its a co-write with a lovely lady called Louisa at my local songwriting circle.

It's about keeping traditions and family dynamics through the ages. Unfortunately we only had time to write the tune and get a demo vocals down. and thanks to @PaulAd for the sleigh bells :-)

Anyway it will save on Xmas cards. Thanks for listening and any feedback and have a great and creative time.

:-) Neil

It’s that time of year
The time you want to hold your loved ones near
This one has come too fast
I want to make this better than the last

I will move the Christmas tree, I’ll put up the lights
And you’ll be busy making sure that everything’s alright

Keeping Christmas
That’s what I’ll do for you
Wrapped up with all the ribbons
And decorations too
Keeping Christmas
That’s what I’ll do for you
That’s what I’ll do for you

We’re waiting to hear
To find out what family comes here
And thought it might be wrong
I hope we don’t end up with your mum

While you’re busy running round in circles every night
I really hope that I’ve picked out a present that you’ll like

Keeping Christmas
That’s what I’ll do for you
Wrapped up with all the ribbons
And decorations too
Keeping Christmas
That’s what I’ll do for you
That’s what I’ll do for you

Nice to hear new Christmas songs instead of the Million year old stuff you hear in every supermarket, lovely vocal and a damn good Christmas song to boot, my only crit is that the short instrumental bit at around 2.10 seemed to bring a dark and threatening aura to the proceedings which seemed a bit odd to my cloth ears...but hey..being picky, I couldn't write a Christams song to save my life.. :)

well done and have a good one guys :)

Hi guys, nice collaboration. Hooky chorus and great vocals. Good song, liked the instrumentation and the feel too.

Nice one!

Cheers

Yeah ditto about your singing partner on this Neil, what a great fulsome voice she has.  Very nicely constructed track too... the sleigh bells were just sparing enough to add a little festive sparkle without being over done and the dynamics of the track work really well.  Interesting "false ending" around the 3:30 mark too - feels like you've treated us to the 12" extended version here but it could easily also have ended there and still filled us up.  Impressive entry...
It's all too beautiful.

Great - You managed to get those sleigh bells in there then Neil  :) Fabulous vocals and as usual a high standard of instrumentation and production. Interesting change into the M8 / breakdown. Top quality as usual

Yeah...she's got lovely voice...not only that...but she uses it really well too...very classy.

I really liked this the moment I first heard it...Neil's backing is brilliant and the changes keep you wondering where it's going next.

A great entry for the competition  :)

Great vocals, not unlike Maria McKee and such a powerful production for the vocal to take centre stage.

I wish you’d sent this across for a string arrangement.

Super track and well done to you both!

Paul

I forgot  to mention, the bass drives this along so very well and the stripped back chiming bells section is ace!

Very cool melody, Vox are top notch and nice choice on the high note for "You"
The change works for me, only thing I was waiting for was some Neil lead guitar
on the outro...:) great job guys!
