Well, I think this is a bloody good song as it is..great sorta, raw sound and quite Lennonesque..drums work I reckon but if (like me ) you hate pissing about with drum midi files you need to get Jamstix 4, does it all for you, little bit of a learning curve but worth it and they do a free one so worth a look mate..
by the way like the falsetto bit in the vocal and the intro is brill!!

@Kim Noel Thank you! Lyrics don't come easy to me, so that means a lot.

@shadowfax Thank you so much. The song is about John Lennon and his struggles to stay in America and the fact the he was shot. I know the lyrics don't really convey that but that was the inspiration. I also read a book that stated that he and Yoko were gonna get a divorce....  then he was murdered... and Yoko capitalised on it.
Probably bullshit BUT inspiration nonetheless.

This is one of the best songs John Lennon never wrote. I reckon he'd have been well proud of this one.

Some lovely little touches here and there,such as the backward stuff at the intro make this quite special.

This is really rather special Greedo.  As has been said, indeed very Lennonesque in the vocal delivery and some of the lyrics, so a fitting tribute to him.  I am a total sucker for psychedelic backwards sounds so the intro ticked my boxes immediately.  The falsetto lines are spot on too and I like the counter melodies you introduce in the middle 8.  There's a nice build to it too.  If I were choosing candidates for SOTM this month this'd be a frontrunner for me.

So the backwards thing is actually a sample from a Rutles song called Piggy In The Middle

I wondered what the backwards speech in the song said, so I reversed it and BOOM I wrote a song around what I heard. (He says ‘This little piggy went to market’ if you’re curious).

As for the counter melody in the middle 8.... it’s from another song and I sing it word for word. I will give 10 million Brownie points to the first person who can tell me where it’s from.

Super stuff @dinnerwithgreedo Love the Rutles sample. Getting the Lennon vibe as well. Super vocals and attitude, loads of balls. Top marks on the falsetto as well. This is a very well put together song which I really enjoyed.
