Hi all,

So its been a while, studio comp breakdown, home improvements amongst other things.....life in general.

Myself and @Mikey finally got this one done, All the crap thats going on with our country at the mo, this track seems very fitting.

Lyrics are as follows, cheeky swear word in there but thats it, Nothing major.

So sit back, wind the volume up and be prepared to stick a finger to the government.

Lyrics:

Taking me out

Verse 1:
They only feed you what they want you to see
Spilling shit out from the front of my flat TV
I don’t know what they expect me to say
But they’re taking it away if I cant pay
Get your things son theres debts to be paid
And if you’re lucky son you’re gunna get Laid
Get your head down and your nose to the grime
Step out of line boy and your gunna do time

Chorus:
You’re not taking me out
Out in your blaze of glory
You’re not taking me out
coz Im gunna tell you my story
im gunna make you listen
Listen to my demand
gunna keep your distance
Coz Ill make you understand

Verse 2:
They’re taking everything they gave you away
Give you a shot at the prize then you have no say
Get your shield boy, its time for a change
Lets Rustle up, now its time for a Re-arrange
Band of brothers and we’re up for the fight
Solitary men and were gunna Re unite
Shoulder to shoulder, we’ll be killing the regime
Smashing our way to the drop the government machine

Chorus:
You’re not taking me out
Out in your blaze of glory
You’re not taking me out
coz Im gunna tell you my story
im gunna make you listen
Listen to my demand
gunna keep your distance
Coz Ill make you understand

Great to hear from you guys again. I got a T.Rex Children vibe at the start then mashed up with some nice punk influenced guitars and attitude. Sounds fabulous, especially when whacked up loud as per your recommendation  :) Hope all is good with you guys

Yo @Cawproductions

Good to hear you two getting busy again.

Love the mournful/angsty lyrics along with a ZZTop style sound. Rawkin' goodness.

A no nonsense track fo sho,Andy and Mikey.  8)

Yabbadabbadoo, I loved that.  Big gnarly riffs a la QOTSA or The Cult.  Loved the rhythm of the lyrics too.  Most of all though it is the relentlessness of that merciless, pounding guitar riff that seals the deal... it leaves you feeling slightly bloodied, like a good rawk tune should.  Hats off to you gentlemen.
It's all too beautiful.

Hi Chaps. Always enjoy listening to what your production line spits out. Yep this is a solid rocker. I'm also getting big T Rex and ZZ vibes. The chorus is also reminiscent of Feel Like Making Love by Bad Company. So you've kind a nailed that big late 70s early 80s US rock vibe. Like the change in rtyhm between the chorus and verse. It's a tad derivative but full marks for knocking out this bad boy. Takes a lot of skill to nail that sound.

Hi all,
Thanks for taking time to listen and comment. I originally thought that this wasn't the right track for the forum and may be a little too heavy so its cool that a few of you guys gave it a shot.

@mickyplankton Thank you dude, Mikey came up with the riff and feel for this so bang of with his era. (old git)
@Sebandme Cool you got the link working, the track sounds much better when your easr are bleeding, but hey, what doesnt.
@PaulyX Thanks dude, that riff is the backbone of the track.
@Skub we are glad to be back and we have both had a bit of a break, just on the lookout for new stuff, sure we have part started projects that could turn into something.
@pompeyjazz hi mate, hope all is cool at your end, cheers for the listen, I dont really know any T rex stuff as such but a few peeps mentioning them. (I am a youngster after all at 50)

Always appreciate any feedback, everyday is a school day as they say.

Cheers guy.

Hi guys, it was just that opening riff that I thought was a bit T. Rex influenced. No bad thing indeed  :)

@Cawproductions - Lovely mix, perfect. +1 with @pompeyjazz about The TRexmeister, (saw him  live once..) I'd love to hear PJ pushing the LVox on this, really going for it.

a 1234 with the drumsticks wouldn't have gone amiss.

Nice work indeed.

Hi Guys,

Yeh, I do remember the T rex track, that era is @mikey thing. Thats the cool thing about working with someone else as I feel everyone has their time, Musically. Mine was oasis, house music, manchester scene, britpop. Nirvana, Rage....Mikes is earlier, T rex, ACDC, etc...

Bring them together in a songwriting arena, what you got is a mashup.

Thanks @pompeyjazz for the heads up, wil check T rex out a bit more.

Also Thanks @cowparsleyman, and yeh, if you want to your vocalist to deliver the goods with bags and bags of attitude, @pompeyjazz is your dude, he did a sterling job for us on Come back baby...

Cheers
Andy

Yep - lots to like here.
Solid rockin' riff and guitar sound - lead guitar wails.
Vocalist is no slacker either - I like how the melody line avoids the usual bluesy flattened thirds and fifths. I'm hearing the cult too.

Good work :D

This is fantastic! Such energy and I just love the drive of that guitar riff... chorus is great! Lyrics really work Particularly because of their rhythm / meter. Very pro sounding... 👍👍

Nice work !
