Well, here I am again
With my favourite shirt, hair issues, uncertainties ( here, chord progression and lyrics )
Practicing a newish song.

Thing is I'm going to get active as a performance artist again, locally in Germany.
After a two year break and only slightly elevated expectations, I'm nervous.

Stage fright, I thought I'd buried that little monkey forever, years ago.
It's back, it refuses to acknowledge past defeats.

I've a venue with a friendly host in my sights for next Sunday.
The place is usually full of talent, some respectable artists, some skillful impersonators.
Frequented by some sweet souls and also some monstrous leechers.
It takes courage and steely nerves to get my groove on after such a long break.
I simply must realise the truth that the audience are, at worst indifferent to me n my concerns.
Some of them will vaguely be wishing me well.
This anxiety I feel is in cahoots with my tricky ego. Ah, well til death do us part... Probably.
I have come to realise that I might always be inclined to act out this Rightly persona on n off at various levels of amplitude.
I'll get at least one good busking session in before the trial.

Have a look at this vid n say what you will. Maybe wish me well. Lol. God bless yer.

It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

I have been looking forward to hearing this, and Mr. @Rightly, you did not disappoint. I have a weak-spot for acoustic songs, and this is brilliant. Loved the chord-progression you're using here!

When it comes to your comeback, I am sure you will do just fine :) I wish you all the best and good luck with your show! Let me know how it goes! :)

Ahoi! @LukeArmstrongMusic
Thanks for the encouraging words
Really appreciated.
I think we both value sincerity in a performance, so we're sort of on the same page.
Stage fright does lessen with practice.
I have to remind myself to keep my ambition in check.
Being on stage I consider unnatural, so it's okay to feel a bit intimidated under so much scrutiny.
Actually I've just got word, on the coming friday I can play elsewhere which isn't half as intimidating as the sunday place.
I've already practiced for hours, so things might pan out well.

I get a lot of opportunities to play in Berlin, a lot of competition (to avoid)
A friend encouraged me to play live for extra money n not to get too caught up in open mics.
I want to get an 8 song, paid gig lined up before the end of the year.
I'm hoping the necessary discipline required for me to gig it will be keep me on the straight n narrow.
I'm older now so maybe I can handle the exposure better.
The whole idea is getting warmer.

@pompeyjazz
Ah thanks maestro.
(I've forgotten the few sure-fire cover songs I had)
All beginnings are said to be difficult.
Bring it on!

Hope it goes well @Rightly I'm really interested in how it goes as I'm planning to do some live solo work again in the new year. I'm just trying to work out how I can adapt some of my songs to vocals  + acoustic versions  :) Good luck and keep us posted

I'll let you know.
I intend to write a report for myself anyway.

Most of my cubase songs were written originally on guitar.
A few cherished songs will need to be converted though.
I'll probably not bother, it might be less work to to compose new ones that are better (he said, unconvinced)
I'll let you know.
