Hello everyone, very very long time no see..
I haven't written anything at all properly for over three years but had an idea for a kids book/ video and accompanying song and was keen to see what you guys thought. The book / video would start off monochrome and gradually become more and more colourful as the colours introduce themselves, ending with a wizard of oz style crescendo of colour.
No composition as yet, just lyrics, but here it is, I'd be keen to hear your views..
White was blank
White was blank, all sad and alone.
Black came along, the emptiness gone.
But something is missing though, White and Black said
What we need is, something, just something...I'm Red!
I am a colour, the first you will see
I'm the second I'm Orange, I am mixed, with he..
He, is Yellow, just like the sun
That grows all the Green trees and plants and.. Um..
Me I'm Blue, of water so clear
With Indigo and Violet, remember we're here!
Together we make up the stripes you have seen
Over mountains of white, forests of green
The beautiful magical things that will be
The sunset or storm, ocean colour scene
When the rain is falling
And the sun shines above
In the arches of colour
The rainbows we love
So don't feel so sad now, White, on your own
For you are not blank, you are just one
Of many of millions of colours, you see
That make up this beautiful world for me.
