I find that there are so many different starting points for writing a song. This one originated from a bass riff that I had banging around my head and developed from there. It kind of morphed into bit of a nod to Barrie Masters of Eddie and The Hot Rods - "Do What You Want To Do" - Anyway, I hope it captures that kind of energy
When I went to school it was a lonely place
Had mud kicked in my face
What a lesson learned
Then I grew up and found out the plan
Life's lessons made you a man
Undeterred
Anything you want to you can do
Ain't nobody stopping you
Don't let anybody put you down
Just fight back and turn your life around
Went to work in a factory
Slaving for the company
Day and night
Pushing for productivity
Yes, it's down to you and me
Fight the fight
Anything you want to you can do
Ain't nobody stopping you
Don't let anybody put you down
Just fight back and turn your life around
Do what they say
Don't get in the way
You'll work it out some day
Anything you want to you can do
Ain't nobody stopping you
Don't let anybody put you down
Just fight back and turn your life around
