Been a while, busy with the release of my third EP that dropped yesterday but I managed to wrap this one up in parallel. Getting less and less rock and more and more soft...

https://soundcloud.com/jambrains/i-remember

I don't know
if there's a way out of here?
I can’t take another minute,
Never mind another year

I miss the simple things,
Your touch and your kiss
But you’ve thrown away the love we had
And I can’t go on like this

With heavy heart I dread the only
future I can see
Where I leave you behind
For what you did to me

I remember nights of passion
Fights that would never end
The line between your joy and tears
I could never comprehend
I should stay - I promised you
For better or for worse
What started as a blessing
You turned into a curse

We both know
that there's no way out of here
we've thrown away what was precious
all the things that we hold dear

The trust we built
Is shattered and is gone
I forgave you once too often
I've been hurting far too long

With heavy heart I dread the only
future I can see
Where I leave you behind
For what you did to me

I remember nights of passion
Fights that would never end
The line between your joy and tears
I could never comprehend
I should stay - I promised you
For better or for worse
What started as a blessing
You turned into a curse

Remember when
We stood as one
You leaned on me
And I wrapped you in my arms
The words we whispered
late at night
left truths unspoken

I remember nights of passion
Fights that would never end
The line between your joy and tears
I could never comprehend
I should stay - I promised you
For better or for worse
What started as a blessing
You turned into a curse

Hi @Jambrains Well you are getting a lot more mellow but I'm really liking your mellow side as well as your more rocked up self. Love the tinkling piano and acoustic. Reminded me of Brucie (Not Forsyth) in some ways. As usual, it's impeccably put together in terms of arrangement and production, thereis great dynamics and deserves to be listened to by a wide audience  :)

Good luck with the EP  :)

Yo @Jambrains

Ya big soft ponce, hand in your rock card immediately.   :P

Well, that's the pleasantries out of the way, let's talk about the song.  :)

This one has a lovely warm sound, not so much Shane Macgowan as maybe his better mannered big brother! Love the light and shade and while I have limited attention span for lurve songs, this one at least has enough lyrical bitterness and angst to satisfy an old cynic such as myself.

Sweetly done Johan,I have no valid criticisms,I simply enjoyed the song.  8)

BTW,you have 666 followers on Soundcloud, very fitting for Halloween!

@Jambrains - You do have a knack for crafting hooky songs, I especially like the bass.

Tidy arrangement, no nits at all.

Please to hear you work. But you do need to hang up your fuzzfox and spend an evening by the fire removing the studs from your bikers jacket if you continue in this vein @Skub  8)

Only kiddin'

Of course I'm going to love this - what with the great piano work and the quality @Jambrains vocals.  :D :D
Those few power chords at the end remind us there's a raunchier version of you waiting in the wings  ;D
Nice work  ;D

Nothing wrong with being a bit sensitive at all. Nice melancholic and melodic tune, good singing too.
Strong arrangements with piano and guitars.
My only thought is the bass drum is a bit proud especially in the chorus and sounds a bit too hard rock compared to the rest of the tune. And where’s the solo? Soft rock have them you know :-)
Good luck with the EP - is that more jambrains rock??
:-)

Oooohhh...I love that piano at the beginning.

Oh...oh, and there it is again in the breakdown.

Jeez man the outro..... you’re killin me.

Great driving track, I think it would work really well as a stripped back, kind of acoustic track, but saying that the contrast of that solo piano coming in and out is real nice.

Good work my man.

Really excellent, JB!

Builds really nicely into the first chorus and then slips back into a great groove.

Perfectly produced too!
