Jamie:
Hi all, probably been discussed before but.......Has anyone paid for a soundcloud upgrade, if you have is it worth it and what benefits do you get?
Cheers
Jamie

I have an intermediate premium account. I like being able to see more of the stats than I can with a free account. I haven't tried the top level so far. And I also like being able to post more music without having to remove any.

Hey @Jamie

I started off with the free 'cooking' version, then went up a step when I ran out of room. Same thing again for the unlimited version.

Initially,I just needed s/c for storage, but a couple of years ago I discovered there is a great and very active community there, most open to collabs and the like. From that time on I did a lot more listening on the platform as well as posting up tracks.

The middle stage upgrade allows you to replace a track without losing the comments from those who have listened. I find this very useful, since I often fiddle with a mix after a song is posted, usually due to advice on this forum!

You get access to more stats too,but I take all that with a pinch of salt!

So,if you don't need the space,or need to replace tracks, than I'd stick with the free jobbie!

You can pay per month, then if you find it no use,you can opt out. Suck it and see.

Hi Jamie, @Skub has mentioned the ability with paid subscriptions to update your track once it is published. Just to say I am on version three now for my latest 'Ugly Baby' song - all following helpful pointers on here. So I could update the track without losing any likes and comments, not that there are loads. But it is not that good for your own listeners if their supportive comments get deleted if you want to amend your file.

The other thing I like is that you can showcase your current top five songs that you'd like people to listen to, without this just being in chronological order.

The improved stats thing can be useful too, as if some unknown member is listening a lot to your songs, then you can check them out too. If you like them you can create a connection, which is how the organic side of Soundcloud works, but is something that our own @skub is a master of, so it seems. Clever guy that he is!

Hi Skub talks a lot of sense, im a premium member and i can honestly say it’s worth every penny, just wait for a good deal, usually around black Friday, stats are useful, replacing files also very useful, used it twice today...for remixed versions.

Seeing where folks are listening is sure useful.

Hope this helps,
