Lost Without You

(1/1)

AnitaFox:
Hi all,

I haven't posted for a while but have been reading and listening today and found inspiration to write this little piece.  I hope you like it.  For now, it's called Lost Without You

Our eyes met across a crowded bar
You came and promised me the Earth and I was seeing stars
I gave you everything I had and I said I’d love you eternally
We travelled on a dream living our life on a high
Spending all the time we had with our heads up in the sky
The future was ours and there was no place that I’d rather be

I still feel your skin
Still taste your kiss
You gave me real love
I’m holding on because I’m lost without you
I still hear your voice
Still catch my breath
You gave my real love
I can’t let you go because I’m lost without you

Locked in to my memory like a battle scar
The words that cut me to the core as I cried in my car
The loneliness grows and feeds the fear inside of me
You left me on the edge can’t find the strength to try
I see no comfort in the shades of you that pass me by
Thoughts of you fill my head and they won’t set me free

I still feel your skin
Still taste your kiss
You gave me real love
I’m holding on because I’m lost without you
I still hear your voice
Still catch my breath
You gave my real love
I can’t let you go because I’m lost without you

Feedback, as always is much appreciated.

Cheers

You are uncommonly gifted wordsmith A...

I don’t often get inspired by lyrics but these are right up there.

I’m sure I’m not the only songwriter that wished they had more time on their hands to write the music..

AnitaFox:
Thanks Rich  you're too kind.

I think I'm going to have a look at putting some VERY basic piano behind my vocal but will see what happens.

I hope you're keeping well.

I love this one! The rhyming is so good in this song, and it has tons of emotion. Exceptional songwriting!
