Some unmistakeable and rather epic Bondy elements there from 00-Pomps!  This promises to be fun.  ;)
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

@pompeyjazz - nice work John, yip it has all the elements...

Lovely brass stabs, plenty of long drawn out lyric phrases...

Maybe follow the lead vocal with the same line ‘not so young...quite as much ...iron lung’ know what i mean? One on each side...

the picture had me interested, she needs a good old steak n kidney pud, i bet she cant  hold that gun up for very long...

My Bond theme is going through several changes at the moment. I first posted an acoustic guitar/vocal, then a version that included bass, drums, several acoustic guitars and minimal string parts.  That's version can be heard here:

https://soundcloud.com/pvasey1/no-time-to-die-high-balanced

However, a much more dynamic version is in progress, complete with moving strings, horns and timpani drums.  It's still a work in progress but as indicated above, there is an updated version (2nd version)  to be heard. I'll raise the vocal in the final mix.

I started writing some lyrics for this yesterday...i might have to split it into two as there seems to be a diversion in the tone and seriousness of the narrative I started with...so I might do one serious and one a bit more lighthearted. I'd really like to get an entry together though.

I love the idea of a forum Bond album...

@pompeyjazz

Great to hear your Bond song. It's a really entertaining look at 007 in his latter years.  Musical motifs appear in abundance and there's a great 007 vibe here!

I've done mine today...

Blowback

Out for revenge
And in for the kill
A stubborn refusal
To bend to your will

Scores to be settled
And debts to be paid
Agreements torn up
Where fortunes were made

The point of a bayonet
The sole of a boot
The hum of a drone
To end the dispute

You don’t hear their cries
But no-one forgets
The blood never dries
Where the sun never sets

Scratching your head
And wondering why
The natives are restless
Won’t lay down and die

All over the world
Under attack
Reap what you sow
Starting to crack…

Blowback

Trying to write a Bond theme was a great idea to get stuck into!

As you know, I'm just not into this Bond Thing at all, but I'm really interested in the interpretations, and enjoying listening to the entries...

Some great JB elements in there @PaulAds I love that 12 string solo. It's almost got a latin or North African feel to it. A super addition to the album  :)

Wow, I thought that was freakin’ awesome @PaulAds ! Enough JB touches to make it fit the brief like a glove but that 12 string feel also makes it really unique. Totally loved the abrupt ending too. This is fascinating, listening to each other filtered through the 007 lens.
It's all too beautiful.

Great contributions already @PaulAds is there something from Russia in those guitars?

Apparently Billie has her's ready too ... and it's a sad ballad...

There is a kind of international and epic dimension to that tune @PaulAds - fitting the challenge well - and those guitars are certainly the hero, after Mr Bond of course. Nice work once again!

@PaulAds,

Hey Paul,

A very unique sound, finished off with your unique vocal.  This is a super song that embraces the bond genre of music and adds it’s own splash of colour.  there are many suitable lyrics/words that compliment the task too:  “revenge”. “in for the kill”, “fortunes”, “debts”, “The blood never dries”.  Very well done!

Sooo.... now we can finally hear it, what do we think of the "real thing"?!

I was underwhelmed at first but after a couple of listens I think it's a pretty clever combo of her trademark style and unashamed Bondness.
