Hi guys.

I know there are a few people that have music on Spotify/Apple Music & other streaming sites. I was wondering how people went about this and what the best way of doing so is. It's not something I have ever done before so don't really know the ins and outs.

Similarly - anyone on iTunes?

I've used the "amuse" app which uploads your music to all streaming services, I think...it is mobile-only, if I remember rightly...but will get your music onto most platforms for free...well worth checking out.

I went with CD Baby for my album. There's a one off fee but nothing ongoing, and you get onto every platform out there including iTunes. I found it very straightforward. I did look at Amuse but the mobile only thing put me off

Thanks guys! I've just looked in to Amuse and seems almost too good to be true. But I've got with them for now and just waiting on approval from them. I uploaded a single on my PC so it looks like they are no longer just mobile. Their website was really accessible too on desktop.

I have something on iTunes. CD Baby put it there for me. The thing is, it does no good to be there unless you market yourself so people go find your music to listen to it. Or get on one or more good playlists. Or is it blogs? I'm not up to date on things....

Hi @Jack Simmons - I use Distrokid, it works very similar to Amuse and CD Baby.

As Vicky says it's almost worthless if you don't make an effort and market your stuff (I'm not on Facebook, Twitter etc.), but that's where I'm not concerned about that side of it, in fact I'm very interested in how organic the increase in plays etc is, and how different elements affect the plays.

For example I put Korean titles in my sound cloud songs to see if that made any impact on the Korean market and yes it does (a tiny tiny impact), and as a by product of the Korean titles, I now have a few more Japanese listeners, which may be Koreans living in Japan)
