In this lush land we try to thrive, with a lack of finance it’s hard to survive
But fiscal policies aside, it cuts like a knife, we want to strive but it’s all contrived

Caught in the web of naivety
Pulled back down to Earth with the force of gravity
Stung by the insect of reality
Awake in a nightmare, looking for our deity

From humble beginnings we came to this place
With a spring in our step and a smile on our face
To ride the waves of fortune and grace
But the trace of disgrace is too great to misplace

Better times are on the horizon, continuous improvement like the Japanese Kaizen
Like the babies in the church just before they baptise them, a new dawn of decadence, new era of excitement

Pooled resources, an onslaught of dedication, a house in the suburbs, a sound education
The demise of others for which there is no medication, it hurts to be a witness to the lack of adulation

The world is ours but the future’s uncertain, we’ll stay brave we’ll fight the Iron Curtain
No more times in the cold and dark hurting, a story of success and progress is what we’re blurting

Flown away from the nest of degradation
Jumped off the ship of humiliation
Spread our wings, taken flight in celebration
Opened the door to establish reputation

From humble beginnings we came to this place
With a spring in our step and a smile on our face
To ride the waves of fortune and grace
But the trace of disgrace is too great to misplace
