Hi all,

Heres something a little different from us, This was originally an experiment working in 6/8 timing and was inspired by another Fav Band of mine, Doves.
Also been following a Mixing/mastering course on the Slate Digital site and using their Plugins, I personally think its made a difference but time will tell.

Anyway, Take a listen, Vocals aint really my thing but couldn't help but get them upfront for this.

Thanks for listening. Enjoy.

Lyrics:
Verse 1:
So, what have you done
Im almost sure that you’ve tried and Im coming undone
So, you’ve tore me apart
You should have known that your lies wouldn’t work from the start

Chorus:
And if you want to see me cry
And if you want see me say goodbye
And if you want to see me walk away
Then beg me to stay

Verse 2:
So I guess you should know
I’ve got the world in my hands now that I’m in control
So, Im trying not to show
That you may have taken my heart but can’t take my soul.

Bridge:
just say goodbye
Coz Ive seen that look in your eye
a thousand times and…

Ending:
Don’t let me walk away
Don’t watch me walk away
Don’t let me walk away

I really like 6/8 time, which works really well for indie type ballads like this. It makes it a lot less predictable than 4/4 and adds a lovely element of swing, which here your rhythm guitar is the hero of.

Great vocal melody on the chorus and smashing delivery too. I am about to start recording my new song's vocal and you've put me off. Time to gargle or something! :)

Really lovely song this, mellow and catchy and memorable too. Yep, a winner!
My latest novel: pls check it out!

Hi guys an girls

Thanks for listening, Pleased you guys think the vocal is OK, as I am not over confident in that area. Its coming together but need more technique I feel. Only just got used to hearing myself back.

The 6/8 thing was just to try something different, I like the feel of the track, seem to roll along. Tricky to get the acoustic gtrs all lined up as there were 4 mic takes. Keeping them in phase was a mission.

Thanks again for taking time to comment and listen to the track.

Yo Andy and Mikey.

Over time it has been great to watch/listen to folks growing musically on the forum.

You have carved out your own niche and are well able to punt out carefully crafted and high quality tracks.

I love music with spaces and downtime, this has that and everything is so much more dynamic.

Your voice sounds great in this piece Andy, suits it just fine. Singing is all about self belief,I always think. If you have the confidence in yourself, then others will believe.

Love that crisp production as the icing on the cake. Betterer and betterer get you!  8)

Love the spangly ringing guitar motif.

That rhythm is infectious and puts the stamp on this one.

Big anthemic chorus is great!

I think the vocal is good....don't sweat it...sounds fine to me.

Nice one you Caw people!
Take it easy.

Hi All,

Vocals really remind me of Embrace at their anthemic best.
Top quality song; kind of thing I would have bought on 7" a wee while ago.
Strong chorus.

Who said great music was dead?

Hi Guys,
Once again, Thanks for taking time to listen.

Thank you for your kind comments on my vocal, it was difficult to try and hide away vocally on this track so quite chuffed that you guys thought they sounded nice and fitted the track. Trust me a lot of re recording and self doubt/editing  went into this as I knew they would very upfront.

We love a big chorus and am pleased a few of you picked up on it.

Cheers again to all, totes agree that the standard of songwriting/producing/etc of all the people on this forum are growing, great community.
Please to be among like minded boys and girls.
