Sad story, but excellent song. Epic vocal here - faultless. Restrained instumentation works a treat. I admire the way you don’t throw the kitchen sink at it, it doesn’t need it. The outro reminded me of ‘Imagine’ a little -great way to end it. Be proud of this one.
It's all too beautiful.

Sad and heartfelt, well sung, much too relatable story. Don't know why it's so easy for a man to leave his kids, but I experienced the same. Hard to forgive. I came around to my dad in the end, but in that same superficial way you describe. I didn't go to his funeral. I don't regret it.

So that's the memory your song brings up. That's pretty powerful songwriting.
