Hello

Releasing this new song and wanted to share with the forum, any feedback is welcome.
Bit of a mix of folk, Americana & blues.

Rest Your Head (Lyric Video)

Rest Your Head by Chris Keys

V1
When you cry... but no one wants to know
When you've tried... and nothing seems to show
When you run... but running does no good
When you hide... hiding like a fool

C1
You can rest your head next to mine...
Next to mine... Next to mine... Next to mine...

V2
When you fight... fighting on your own
When you climb... but nowhere left to go
When your out... feeling outa control
When your day... just never seems to roll

C2
You can rest your head next to mine...
Next to mine... Next to mine... Next to mine...

Instrumental

C3
You can rest your head next to mine...
Next to mine... Next to mine... Next to mine...

Outro
Next to mine... Next to mine... Next to mine...
Next to mine... Next to mine... Next to mine...

I thought this was strikingly good - largely because of your exceptional vocals, which were reminiscent of Kelly Jones or the dude from Reef. It's a good illustration that you don't need many chords or clever transitions to keep things interesting - it's simple but really works because your voice carries it all the way home. Nice build in the first half of the song too.
It's all too beautiful.

Superb stuff, real lively sound about the production that's very enjoyable.

Maybe a little too lively, certainly those guitars all sound very upfront and close to the listener which is a great effect but the sound of it could tire the listeners ears after a while, be a bit too much. Maybe worth thinking about.

Song is really catchy, your voice is really soulful. Loved it!

Vocals, like everyone says. I've heard a couple of yours now. I think they're very professional and you could maybe give me lessons???

Thanks I listen to a lot of soul music and singers so maybe it's finding its way in finally. I know what your saying I have thought a few times about the current mix and guitar level etc
