Man of substance ( about mental health )
Can’t you see him sitting in the corner ?
You’d never believe he’s a former
man of substance
His daughter looks up at the ceiling
no one wants to see the tears he cry’s
nobody wants the neighbours to know
so they put on a daily show
he’s a man of substance
but now he sucks his thumb
he can’t be left alone
they know they can’t hide the truth forever
the longer they leave it
the blinds over their eyes will seem real
he’s a man of substance
but now he wets himself
they draw lots to see whose turn it is
It’s so sad to see
all the dreams are fading away
he’s a man of substance
but now his upright frame
slopes in the chair
Fades
as he slowly fades away
as he slowly fades away
as he slowly fades away
as he slowly fades away
as he slowly fades away
as he slowly fades away
