My apologies to all for not being around the forum recently. As some of you will know, I've been a carer for my wife for the last 5 years or so learning the complicated process of home haemodialysis.

Unfortunately Jeannie lost her brave fight last Friday but I had the enormous privilege of being to spend every moment of her last week by here side.

Missing my best mate and inspiration enormously.

This is something I wrote for her a few weeks before she left us to go to wherever you go to.

Tell me won't you stay a while ?
And leave me with that magical smile
And then at last, well I'll be on my way
Our time to love will come again some day

But I must go away, it makes me want to cry
Cos I can't live without you by my side
Meet again some day when we've been far and wide
I just long to see the magic of your smile

I've been lost, a man without a cause
Searching high and low for something that I'll never know
We had it all, we sacrificed and lost
You'll never know, dissolving in the past

But I must go away, it makes me want to cry
Cos I can't live without you by my side
Meet again some day when we've been far and wide
I just long to see the magic of your smile

@pompeyjazz First of all, I'm truly sorry for your loss! I'm sending you all of my love over to you.

This is an amazing track. I'm actually a little speechless and that is not common for me. I loved every single second, every beat and every word you sang. And even though I wasn't born back then, this reminds me of some of the greatest music from the '80s :) The chorus is beautiful, heartbreaking, and it is truthful and relatable. The guitar solo you put up there is fantastic, and I could feel the emotions through your playing. You sang this song beautifully as well, and your delivery was spot on.

I don't know what else there is to say, except that this touched my heart deeply, and it brought out my emotions. Beautiful!

Take care!

I'm really sorry to hear that news John.  Sending you all my condolences.  Hang in there mate... I know you did her proud.
The song: it's great. A little unusual, heartfelt... powerful stuff, even if one didn't know the context.  A super tribute.
It's all too beautiful.

What a beautiful and lovely, albeit sad song. Beautiful - I don't want to say anymore, it's so personal to you John. I cannot imagine what you are going through, but I hope you find strength and get comfort in your music. Very best wishes to you John.

Oh John, I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost your wife. My sincere condolences. The song is lovely and a fine tribute. Your vocal is ever superb and the rough edge is perfect for the emotions you must be feeling.

Nothing more to say.

Yo J.

A wonderful tribute to your lady wife. Sensitively composed, played and sung.

A heartfelt song always communicates with listeners. That's one of the difference between real music and fluff.

Thinking of ya JB,take care man.
