I found an acoustic recording of this song that I wrote in February. It would be a shame to hide it away. In case I never get around to recording. I thought I'd at least share the lyrics. Simple and directly from the heart these are the lyrics to a song called "I don't have you."
I don't have you
I will walk like others do,
work then sleep it's true
but I won't have you.
I will wake, then raise my head,
mourn for love that's dead.
No, I won't have you.
I remember every detail of that year.
The universe aligned and we were there.
The stage light falling gently on our skin
Informed us that our time should then begin.
So we kissed like lovers do,
declared a love so true.
Now, I don't have you.
We road trains and boats and planes,
Walked ancient cobbled lanes
Now, I don't have you.
In the early evening sunset on the sea,
the coastline disappeared then we were free.
We swam through crystal water to the beach.
Sadly now, the shoreline's out of reach.
The curtain falls and the lights dim.
The actors take a bow.
The exit door has now opened
We should leave but I don't know how.
I don't have you.
I don't have you.
