Hey peeps.... so I'm having a lot of fun at the moment toplining with a vocaloid, basically just composing melodies from scratch that match lyrics I wrote. Now, though, I wanna co-write by toplining catchy ear worm melodies over some really interesting chord progressions that sound like today's chart songs  - interesting combos but also interesting rhythms too. Even if someone has some samples, loops etc happy to have a go at co-writing something growing out of them too. Obviously once the bare bones of chords and melody are settled we can develop whatever emerges into a fuller song if its good enough!

Hey @KamInnons

Have a read through this thread and listen to this podcast, which will give you most things you need to know about chord progressions and when to use Major and Minor chords:

http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=9447.0

Remember, these are the music theory rules for what should sound good - but rules are made to be broken

So please consider the advice this this thread as “the map” but it is sometimes good to go “off piste” and do but if discovery on your own
