Been busy with the Ashes for Dreams album release and Sky Lanterns stuff with Leo but finally managed to finish this Jambrains track.
A cheerful, happy little number as every Jambrains song  ;D ;D ;D ;D

https://soundcloud.com/jambrains/time-to-say-goodbye

We took it all for granted
now we'll reap what we have sown
Winter is upon us
chills me to the bone
We thought we had a way out
We thought we could escape
but we were wrong
all along
Our dream was an illusion
a castle made of sand

There's a fault
in our stars
it drew us close
and tore us apart
Time to say goodbye
We got lost
on the way
disguised as love
hope lead us astray
Time to say goodbye
Say goodbye

The door stands there, wide open
Can’t bring myself to leave
With empty arms not holding you
My dreams are obsolete
I thought that we could work it out
that time was on our side
But I was wrong
all along
Our dream was an illusion
a castle made of sand

There's a fault
in our stars
it drew us close
and tore us apart
Time to say goodbye
We got lost
on the way
disguised as love
hope lead us astray
Time to say goodbye
Say goodbye

The broken china on the floor
the only witness
to the fight the night before
The slamming of the door
marks the end of the truce
of this never ending war

There's a fault
in our stars
it drew us close
and tore us apart
Time to say goodbye
We got lost
on the way
disguised as love
hope lead us astray
Time to say goodbye
Say goodbye

I saw the subject and thought you were leaving the forum in a dramatic fashion.

I'm listening as I write. Nice. I like your singing and your accent is great. I think the guitar solo should be a little louder. Cool song. Like the melody and the bridge is great.

Well, this is an odd song title for me.

My Father in law's last song was the same title, but not the same song.  ;)

That repeating guitar riff is inspirational. It's a rocked up Wishbone Ash.

It's a rockin' tribute to anyone who ever lived or gave a flyin' fuck. Thankx for posting Johan.  :)

@redrhodie, thanks for taking the time. I think your are right, the solo guitar should come up a tad

@skub, thanks mate! That repeating guitar is actually a banjo loop.

I really dig your rock style! The guitar throughout the whole song and the solo is amazing, and you have a good voice :)

Nice work!

Just another really cool track Jam!! I love it!! Really good change up on the bridge. Mix sounds great! My only small observation in way of critique would be that the lines "disguised as love, hope led us astray" sounds a touch busy. That's all I've got though mate. Great stuff!😁🎶👊🏻🎶

Hi Jambrains,

really enjoyed this. Great song, well played and sung. It wouldn't look out of place on a Levellers album, a very good thing.

4 reasons I really liked this: 1) the incessant banjo loop (who can resist tapping a foot to that?); 2) the pianos in the middle 8; 3) the soaring guitar solo; 4) the drum outro - it doesn’t outstay its welcome.  Very nicely balanced and delivered track. Bravo.
It's all too beautiful.

feck - this is good.  ;D
Love the southern influences and the production is top notch.
And there's the quality JB vocals and guitars.
In a fairer world this would sell 10 M copies  ;D
feck - this is good

Well @Jambrains you know I love this but I just thought I'd say it out here in the open.. In particular the banjo loop but even more that low guitar twangy thing you do straight after... (you know what I mean I'm sure!!).

Fab fab song!
