Wrote In the last week or so, I like some of my songs to mock current trends to make the world feel somewhat simpler.
https://soundcloud.com/dom-hunt-2/brexit-party

Theresa’s munching her fish and chips
By herself in Wetherspoons
And she Remembers it’s her birthday
So she whips out the balloons

Time for a party!
She’s having a brexit Party!
She’s having a brexit party!
Tonight.

Corbyns in the bath in the bathroom
He's dancing and he’s high on green tea.
Slips and Falls on his bum he’s trapped in the bath.
Then his wife walks in by accident and asks

Is this a party?
You’re having a brexit party!
You’re having a brexit party!
Tonight!

Nigel’s at a gaff up in the hills
Too cool for vodka, he’s drinking milk!
Singing ‘ooh kiss!’ After twenty nine pints
Rips off his shirt shouts ‘tonight’s the night!’

The Night for a party!
He’s having a brexit party!
He’s having a brexit party!
Tonight!

Time for a party!
They’re having a brexit party!
All having a brexit party!
Tonight.

(End with pretentious laughter ambience)

Like the light "discoisms" of the arrangement, very effective.

Get the feeling you are not particularly enamoured with any of these politicians.

Weren't we meant to have Brexit celebrations after we let according to Theresa?

Great to hear some stuff addressing our current political circus.

Dig the cheeky little baseline that glues it all together.
Wry spoken word delivery was good too.  Bit like Ian Dury or his son Baxter.  And I particularly liked the crescendo of "Nigels" in the middle.
I liked the way its slightly political but not labouring a point.  My fave Brexit song by the way is "GREAT" by Idles - if you want another wry smile:
It's all too beautiful.

Thanks for the feedback, Yeah I try and do something a little different with each song I make and so I went for a more spoken word kind of delivery. And I quite enjoyed screaming Nigel into the mic haha. And I want people to make their own minds up about politics, its not really my job to educate if that makes sense.
And YES! I love a bit of 80s sort of disco, was thinking about adding gated verb to the drums but decided against it because it was all quite tight together anyway.

Nice understated, wry poem. The delivery makes you seem very disappointed with this 'party', and this captures the mood of a lot of the country no doubt. Well written lyrics.

Decent bass rhythmic riff too!
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

You're like an English Fred Schneider. I really enjoyed that. Timely, quirky, funny and understated. Since we Americans universally love anything and everything English (almost 😉), I think you could have a club hit here with this one.

Pardoning my French here, but fucking awesome! :D
I love the 90's sort of vibe to it. Puts me in mind of PULP or Ian Drury or even Blur.

Not to mention, as a British man living in Ireland (Can I be qualified as a political refugee yet?), the whole snide message/attitude really struck a chord with me.

Big kudos, this is going in the car playlist! :D

Thanks for the replies!
Yes! I was going for a sort of mocking attitude, and I love a bit of blur, the music was partly inspired by Girls and Boys.
The feeling is mutual, most of us love america, apart from burger king of course, that restaurant is the worst.

to add to this, this is the first song on my next album, releasing late July, so if you enjoyed my song then feel free to listen to it on Spotify (Dom Hunt) as all the money I earn from the album will be going to charity of some sort. Thank you
