Verse 1

Lost myself trying to save everybody else but it was
Me who needed saving
Now their so high and I’m down
Here lying flat out on the pavement

Pre
But where’s the hand that I’m supposed to hold to get me up
I’ve been searching for the answers time and time again but still I’ve had no luck

Chorus
Left alone with no one at all
Relapse back now I’m trapped
In the thrill of the fall
And I’m down without a way back up
Surrender to the dark now I’m stuck
Now I’m stuck

Verse 2
I’m overthinking in the early hours that should be used for sleeping
Hard to rest when the devils on your shoulder and your running from your demons

Pre
But where’s the hand that I’m supposed to hold to get me up
I’ve been searching for the answers time and time again but still I’ve had no luck

Chorus x2
Left alone with no one at all
Relapse back now I’m trapped
In the thrill of the fall
And I’m down without a way back up
Surrender to the dark now I’m stuck
Now I’m stuck now I’m stuck

Intriguing title Molly.
Please post the lyrics, it's my preferred way to enjoy a song.
I'll have a listen now.
And welcome to the forum.
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

Ok. Really lovely song.
Pretty minimal production, I like that.
Sexy voice, it brought Fiona Apple to mind.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi @mollymc98  Good song, nice arrangement, lots of care with the BVox

Since it's WIP, here are some ideas...
The opening piano sounds a bit rough, maybe it's just my ears? I don't know if that was intentional.
Drums fine, side stick not too loud, as it can be sometimes.
Inside the song the piano sounds better, it was rather exposed at the beginning.
A bit untidy @3:00 with a few things going on in the background.
Felt that a solo would work, maybe a B3 or a close harmony string section, a bit like Eleanor Rigby, pulling out the , or a Classical Guitar, would also work as a background in the outtro.

Nice work Molly, like your use of tags and you've obviously got a handle on the promotional side of things.

Hope this helps

I love your vocals Molly. Lovely depth. I loved the rasp and your attention to detail. What a refreshing find for a younger (than me) singer who doesn't want to emulate shite that is popular. Loved it

Hey Molly!
First off, welcome to the forum :)

You have a really great voice, there is such rawness to it, and it sounds really good on this song. The arrangement for the song is good, loved the piano and the strings. To be recorded in the bedroom this sounds fantastic.

The lyrics are great, and you tell a great story with them. Not to mention, you have an ability in your voice to tell the story in a good way. At least I got lost in the song :)

Cheers
Andreas

I listened a few days ago and I'm back. I like this so much. I love the words. I love the way you use creative near rhyming to support the angsty unstable feel of the story. And I love the melody. I love your voice. This could really be my theme song, I think.

I love almost everything about this, except I'm not sure about the title/line "thrill of the fall". This song is sort of my life story, but there's no "thrill of the fall" in my personal story...that I know of, anyway, and maybe I just don't get that part. So I don't know for sure what I think of that phrase, but overall, this is so perfect for me.

And welcome to the forum! I'm looking forward to hearing another one of yours. I hope I haven't missed any....
