Hi all,

Wrote and recorded this song over the past weekend. The song name deliberately does not match the chorus text - I thought it was a different touch. Feedback most welcome:

WOLF’S SKIN
(Words by Jonathan Linton, Music by Jonathan Linton)

I should have known by the way you talk
It was too good to be true
Should have noticed when you hit the catwalk
We saw the real you
Smoke and mirrors
Fake figures
Give a great illusion
Your money givers
Give me shivers
Of unholy collusion

Silly me, you fooled me again
We take another hit to the chin
It’s all the same, not if but when
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin

I should have known by the way you look
It was too good to be true
Paid silence, but you’re not the crook
Didn’t see, didn’t do
Fox’ll give you
Bias review
To keep the great illusion
The right people
Mentally feeble
Propagate your delusion

Silly me, you fooled me again
We take another hit to the chin
You’re all the same, not if but when
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin…………

SOLO

I should have known by the friends that you keep
It was too good to be true
Glimse of what lies under the sheep
Has now come into view
Do you remember?
You were a member
Of the opposition
Cause there’s no spine
You changed you mind
To pollster your position

Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’ in a sheep’s skin
Wolves hidin’…… in a sheep’s skin

Hi @jonlint  - Never heard anything from you before...Nicely done, Rock ain't that easy to produce like this, very mainstream, really dig your vocal delivery too, some nice rock touches, the gtr following the LVox into the solo.

Double tracked LVox sound tight, as do the chuggy RGtrs.

Crying out for a quiet Mid 8 passage with a Chorus gtr with verb and a hooky, then rip into the solo after that...

Overall a well delivered piece, thought the ending could have been more imagintively tight, maybe pick a riff from the solo and shadow it on the bass and finish together on an off beat, that always works well.

the UMC1820 is a really good piece of kit for the money.

Hope it helps Jon

Regards

Rich

Reminds me of Foofighters and I love Foofgihters! Great song and a very intriguing title, pulls you in.
