"John", I said, "Put me some three minute punk down!", I said.

"Alrighty!", he said.

It´s punk Jim but not as we know it. Or as we do know it. It´s punk anyway. John did the music and I did the lyrics and voices. If you´re feeling delicate you may want to listen at another time. Good luck everyone.

Ballot Box Blues

How do you dare to think you have the right
To take away everything that´s mine
You sit there and you sound the same
Always speaking like you know my name
But you´ve never been through my record collection
And now I´m drowning in stupefaction

I wonder, I wonder
I wonder if you´re still alive
You´re selling me a second-hand car
When I never learned to drive
Do you remember the party they had
When Ceaușescu took his dive?

1-2-3 will you vote for me?
We´re gonna give you some anarchy!

Ballot Box Blues
However you vote you lose
Ballot Box Blues
There´s nothing left to choose
1-2-3 will you vote for me
We´re gonna give you some anarchy!

Eton boys and girls were born with a silver spoon
While the socialists locked themselves in a room
They listened in on each other´s games
That´s how they learned to avoid the blame
But I´ve never been through their library
Because the top shelf is full of sycophancy

I wonder, I wonder
I wonder why you´re still around
It´s a cultural immortality
Based on delusion and fallacy
You´re approving my medical assessment
Whilst suffering from arrested development

1-2-3 will you vote for me?
We´re gonna give you some anarchy!

Ballot Box Blues
However you vote you lose
Ballot Box Blues
There´s nothing left to choose
1-2-3 will you vote for me
We´re gonna give you some anarchy!

Nice bit of bubblegum punk guys!  A bit tongue in cheek... remember Jilted John?  Nice touch to have the chorus a bit less noisy than the verses too... inverts expectations.  And who doesn't love a "Dooby dooby doo"?
It's all too beautiful.

like the raw energy. The Sex Pistols came immediately to my mind.

Hello,

I really like this song ! The guitars are very good, efficient, well composed for the style, and I like the voice: it's very original when you pronounce the "r" in "whilst suffering from arrested development": something happens.

Obviously when you hear the word "anarchy" in a punk song you can only think of the sex pistols...

Very good work !

Yo Martyn and John.

Some great roots punk right here, all that teen angst from two who are not teens well qualified to comment.  :D

Great entertainment. Marty's vox totally suit those drivin' Tele tones. Blood on the pickguard John!

Our lot of useless wonks are up for re-election and quite how they have the nerve to face the public and ask for a vote when they've been off work with full pay for 2 years and counting. The speaker coins 48k a year for not showing up. >:(

Fine work you two malcontents.

Hi Guys. This is great a real blast. The soundtrack of the alternative parliament. The vocals and lyrics are fantastic but the star of the show is that lead guitar that is firing all over the place just behind the vocals. Is that live guitar playing? Someones a talented boy. If I was to recommend any changes I would be tempted to have that guitar do a solo as a fade out at the end. It deserves to close out the track.

Great bit of retro punky pop, fab energy and tongue in cheek humour. The vocal has a great performance confidence to it, and that chorus is funny and surprising.

Nice guitar work too. Top entertainment!

Great high octane rocker.

Fab lyrics...I love the vocal inflections...full John Lydon flourishes and pathos.

Very entertaining and a real quality entry.

A huge thank you to all who have reviewed and played this little number  :) I must say that Martyn did all of the hard work, I just supplied a quickly knocked up backing track and he whipped it all into shape  :)

Thanks once again

Hi Guys

Great collab....definitely has hints of the Sex Pistols.

Love the vocals and some really clever lyrics.

Love the vote extracts.... just how we all are feeling at the moment.

An enjoyable listen....lots of energy
