Hello!  I haven't been by in a loooong time.....here's something new.....!

THE DEAD ARE RIDING TONIGHT

Verse 1:
The dead are riding hard tonight
They're gathering' up the souls
Finding all the wanderers
Who travel down these roads
Grabbin' everyone in sight

This eve of judgment day

CHORUS:
Keep the horses moving
Don't ever look behind
Your life past is following too close
You're nearly out of time
The great gray wolf is hungry
He's howling at the moon
With winter breaking hard and cold
The spring can't come too soon

Verse 2:
Toothless skulls are grinning
Moonlight through their bones
You're done with all your sinning
It's time to travel home They've come to take you home
And as they gather up the souls
There's no place left to hide
Rounding up the witnesses
Who've seen what's wrong and right Who've seen your truth and lies

Verse 3:
The thunder of the horses,
The shaking of the ground
The screaming of the hopeless souls
Make quite the merry sound Join in the mournful sound
And as they all are counted,They all wait to be counted
Each one must face the light
Their trails of sins and sorrows
Brought clearly into sight

Absolutely brilliant imagery.  The apocalyptic visions in my mind as I read told all the story that was necessary.

      Not posted for a while, missed you bigtime. Have to agree with Verlon, this is quality, it usually is with you, that's why i missed you.

           Not posted for a while, so welcome back, missed you bigtime, you always add quality. Have to agree with Verlon, great stuff, line after line, flows so smooth. Only one line that doesn't work for me, and that's in the chorus.

                                    Your life is following too close

          It's not bad, just sounds a little awkward. But that's nothing compared to the rest. Don't leave it too long till next time.

Vintage, my friend....I too have missed you and your wonderful creations...I appreciate your suggestion and have incorporated a variation that is closer to what I tried to convey..
