HI,

I've got one that I recently wrote.....I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions..

It's Bluegrass time

Standing at the Gate

Verse 1:
The churchyard's dark and lonely
Without another soul
You said to get here early,
I'm standing in the cold
And I don't see nobody here
My joy has turned to doubt
The harvest moon's above the hills
And  time is running out

Chorus:
Hey.. hey,  sweet darlin'  I'm standing at the gate
You said, "My honey,.. make sure that you're not late"
Tell me... Oh tell me ...what I'm supposed to do
[/b]Standing in the dark.. I wait for you

Verse 2:
All our friends we're coming down
That's what I  was told
Music, dancing... in the moonlight
Guests both young and old
They would all be singing out
Best wishes wrapped in gold
Showing up to see us both
Swear to have and hold

Verse 3:
It all felt like a fairy tale
When we both set the date
You whispered., "Love's forever
We shouldn't have to wait"
Promised.. you'd do anything
That I might ask you to
Well, looking back, I can't believe
This pain you put me through

Chorus:
Hey hey,  sweet darlin'  I'm standing at the gate
You said, "My honey,.. make sure that you're not late"
Tell me... Oh tell me ...what I'm supposed to do
All alone...I'm waiting here for you
Standing in the dark.. I wait for you
