So, @pompeyjazz came up with a tune to which myself and @ScottLevi added lyrics/vocals. The result was this:

ROBOTIC WEDDING

Feel my heart
Made out of spare parts
You make it spark
Light up in the dark
Feed the power
The future is ours
Take hold my hand
And slow down the sands

Time
Standing still now
I'm
Feeling chills now

You take my breath as you glide down the aisle
I will, you said, with your wide-open smile

Metal ascending
The old world is ending
The system's resetting
Rebooting, ejecting
Yes, metal ascending
The old world is ending
The new world attending
Our robotic wedding

Two robots programmed to need more than code
Stretching beyond any dreams they behold

Spoken vows
Our joining pronounced
The silicone crowd
All gather around
I take your hand
With programmed commands
We take to the floor
For the first dance and now you're

Mine
Such a thrill now
I'm
So fulfilled now

Who would have thought we would share all our files?
Zeroes and ones made to care for a while

Metal ascending
The old world is ending
The system's resetting
Rebooting, ejecting
Yes, metal ascending
The old world is ending
The new world attending
Our robotic wedding

Two robots met and they fell deep in love
Programmed to need wedding bells... oh oh oh

This is great! The lyrics are very clever. Subversive, thought provoking and charming/disturbing in equal measure. Perfect for the music which is an infectious blend of late period Fall and Kraftwork.
The whole is greater than the sum of the parts which is what you want from a Collab right? Very much enjoyed

Yeah this is so much fun!
Scottlevi is da man for vocals.
Lyrics and music work really well. I'm surprised at how quickly!

I guess it's probably been done already but I've always thought "spare parts" would be a good name for a band.

Well done gentlemen!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

Yo you lot.

It's like a cross between Gary Numan and Kraftwerk. Great collab.  :)

Runs like clockwork.  8)

Hi All,

PJ is everywhere - even checked under my pillow!  :D

This is cool. Great early 80s vibe.
Like the vocal approach - really lends itself to the track.

Great synth sounds.
Needs a vid.

Heey

Awesome working with you guys on this, ready lyrics, music and production made it so easy to contribute to something which we can all be proud of - so thanks to both!

Worth noting the lyrics were all Sterix. I had changed / added a few to experiment but reverted back to the original which were best :)

Hope to work with yas again soon!

Cheers,
Scott.

Haha, this is super, a real joy.  Your vocal delivery is great Scott.  Lovely early 80s analogue synth sounds - they're a treat.  Somehow it reminds me of BBC Radiophonic Workshop TV programmes from when I was a kid too.  Dig the lyrics too, especially the line "The old world is ending".  Great stuff guys.

Hey,

The song is very successful. It's really original. The delay on the voice throughout the song was daring but it works. The end is great!
It's a great job.  :D

At first I did not like the battery but I got used to it and it goes well.  ;)

Thank you @Inanité_sonore I always get confused by the translation of drums in French. Is it La Batterie ? A battery in English is something that powers your devices but in French C'est Un Pile which is something that you don't really want to find up you're bottom. Thank you for your feedback

@pompeyjazz : You're right I meant drums! Indeed in French the word for "drums" is "batterie".
Sorry, I don’t know why I wrote "battery" while I know well that the word is "drums". I use Additctive drums myself almost every day ;)

Bloody nuts this, I love it!  ;D Yes I can see the Kraftwerk influence mentioned above - not unlike Devo at times too. Very confident vocal and instrumental performance, doesn't sound anything but professional.

Very hypnotic and loads of fun. Cool collab guys!  ;D
My latest novel: pls check it out!
