Something I put together last Valentine's Day. A song about successful lovers who learn how to keep there love away from the rocks and also the unsuccessful ones who sail a little too closely finding themselves in dangerous waters off 'The Jagged Coast.'
No Valentine
So beautiful the thoughts they keep; the ones we can't unlock.
The lighthouse sends a guiding light to keep them from the rocks.
You and I were torn apart. Our ship sailed close to shore.
You should have been my Valentine, but we will be no more.
They understand each other's needs, through sacrifice they grow.
The North winds fills their sails with love we never got to know.
You and I were torn apart. Our ship sailed close to shore.
You should have been my Valentine, but we will be no more.
No place for lovers. We cut them down to fools.
No hearts and flowers. We've broken all the rules.
No Valentine for you and I.
You know, I hate to watch love die.
No Valentine for you, forever blue.
No sweet caress, no party dress.
No Valentine.
We drift upon a sea of tears where storm clouds do their worst.
A flair shoots through the winter sky 'til suddenly it bursts.
You and I were torn apart. Our ship sailed close to shore
You should have been my valentine, but we will be no more.
No place for lovers. We cut them down to fools.
No hearts and flowers. We've broken all the rules.
No Valentine for you and I.
You know I hate to watch love die.
No Valentine for you, forever blue.
No sweet caress, no party dress.
No Valentine.
No Valentine.
Adrift upon the sea.
