Hi all. Here is a Raw demo of a song that is at odds with everything I’ve published so far. It’s completely NOT punk and is a love song dedicated to all the missed opportunities in life.

Is this worth re-recording and getting all the timing issues resolved or should we just stick to punk rock?  :)

Whato @mickyplankton - This is a good song indeed, keep working on it, leave all the fx and stuff till the production phase, it kind of distracts from the song it self at this point.

Here's my workflow ....Keep playing it in the car, come up with ideas, jot them down on my phone as a video or voice recording, and add then as a reminder, then work at each one.

Hope this helps.

A gem of a song.

I like love songs until they go all pink n semi-flop on me. Lol.
Some, or most love songs begin and end that way.

Reminds me of a folky Dylan and there's still punk in it.

(I remember when I was eight. I was challenged to a fight, it was strange, I was all in.
It was said that I don't like music, at the time I wasn't aware of any musical preferences I might have had. I said, "I like Punk music!"
The older dude said I didn't know any punk bands. "Yes, I do. The sex pistols!".
At this point he caved a bit, I felt confused but also like I'd somehow got the upper hand.
From there the series of events became even less spectacular. It might have been '77.)

I've been listening to Joe strummer n Johnny rotten lately
So you haven't earned the sell-out label yet. The punk is still in the voice.

Do keep working on the song. At only two minutes, it's a bit short. But err...
I hope to hear it finished.
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

@cowparsleyman and @Rightly

Thanks for the generous feedback both. Yep when I get in the right mood I will give this another go. Will stick to the guitar and vocal only format and play live till I can get shut of the timing issues. Watch this space.

I don't usually come over to this area, but I've been feeling kinda useless in the finished songs section. So I'm really glad I did, because hopefully if I tell you how much I liked this, you'll finish it. It's a lovely song, really honest, and my cup of tea. Your singing sounds great, too. I say go for it. You should venture outside of your comfort zone once in a while.

I looked for it in finished songs and didn't see it there. If it is, please point me to it.

Thanks,
Lynn
