Anybody fancy having a crack at writing some lyrics/ doing some vocals on this electronic track. I had a vague idea about two robots getting married but if you're prepared to write lyrics and do vocals then it's all yours  :)

Hi @pompeyjazz

If nobody's done anything with this I've just knocked up some lyrics (for fun). They're robotic(ish) and keep the title. If you want me to send them over to you I can also knock out some vocals for reference (I don't have the equipment to record anything properly and my voice is much too hit and miss anyway). Let me know if you're interested. If not, I enjoyed knocking up some different lyrics from my usual sad ones. :P

Yeah @Sterix That would be fabulous. If you could send me the vocals as well that would be brilliant as I am limited on the time I have on vocals so mixing yours in would be brilliant  :) PM me if ok

Hey,

I put a few words together for this also but not enough to fill the track. Will dig then out once home on the chance they may compliment Sterix' (on theme with the title)

Cheers,
Scott

Cool with me @ScottLevi Maybe you could liaise with @Sterix and get the lyrics and vocals together between you. Anyway,  I'm easy either way. I'm more than happy to mix the whole thing  :)

this is a strange track
if you get something going between you
I'll try contribute some lyrics, feedback..

I like the track being so far removed from what I do
especially the dancey disco elements
I've no great interest in "do robots have a soul?" theme

if you can throw a catchy disco track my way Pompey... ?

Here's to a joint effort!!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

Strange track indeed @Rightly! Had to dig deep into my surreal for this, not to mention the clichés!

Since there are now other interested parties I thought I'd throw out the first draft lyrics I wrote if one of you wants to give them a going over for improvements/suggestions. I've included the timings for each part for reference. Obviously you probably won't get how it "sounds" just from them but it may offer an idea.

Nb. Thinking the "metal ascending" part would sound good with a synthesized (robotic) vocal...

ROBOTIC WEDDING

0.10
Feel my heart
Made out of spare parts
You make it spark
Light up in the dark
Feed the power
The future is ours
Take hold my hand
And slow down the sands

0.29
Time
Standing still now
I'm
Feeling chills now

0.38
You take my breath as you glide down the aisle
I will, you said, with your wide-open smile

0.49
Metal ascending
The old world is ending
The system's resetting
Rebooting, ejecting
Yes, metal ascending
The old world is ending
The new world attending
Our robotic wedding

1.07
INSTRUMENTAL

1.16
Two robots programmed to need more than code
Stretching beyond any dreams they behold

1.26
Spoken vows
Our joining pronounced
The silicone crowd
All gather around
I take your hand
With programmed commands
We take to the floor
For the first dance and now you're

1.45
Mine
Such a thrill now
I'm
So fulfilled now

1.55
Who would have thought we would share all our files?
Zeroes and ones made to care for a while

2.05
INSTRUMENTAL

2.24

Metal ascending
The old world is ending
The system's resetting
Rebooting, ejecting
Yes, metal ascending
The old world is ending
The new world attending
Our robotic wedding

2.43
INSTRUMENTAL

2.52
Two robots met and they fell deep in love
Programmed to need wedding bells... oh oh oh

Eyyy,

Mmm supposed to be doing chores but those lyrics go so well couldn't help have a cheeky dabble. It's a fun challenge to try and sell the lyrics as a robotic whilst talking about something as human marriage - (I only managed to write 12 lines) :)

Just find it difficult to be less wordy sometimes (in execution) and really wanted to try 'em out, so merged in some more words at the 0:10 and 1:26 mark. Probably takes away more that it adds anyway but gave 'em a go anyway.

Had 2 quick goes, one with original sections and one with alternative. Apologies for the terrible mixes on them; just wanted to try get a feel as a concept. Will mesages yas dry voc if you'll find them helpful to experiment. Is this the right sort of sound you had in mind?

I'll send you my argument
In just one line of turnery
Your love for me is startin'
Infra red may catch your eye,
My message transfered clearly,
While love is true then you 're devine,
The lights tell us it's nearly

1:26
X-Ray vision pre-undressing
Sexy circuits of the bride
If date.now() is less than wedding
Four-Zero-One: Access denied
Spoken vows joining pronounced
Infront of silican crowd
Taken hand programmed commands
We'll take this dance and now you're

It's been an enjoyable experience. Though my own part only really last about an hour... :P
